I'll ask again, what makes this version different from the regular version?
synch
02-16-2006, 08:40 AM
Oh I'm sorry, I thought you had found the difference and thus posted the link.
Different box, cards, booklet.
Not a huge deal but considering I already have the game (although not a proper copy...) I'd get the collectors edition if possible.

it's really not that bad. it's about as long as an average phone and not all that thick. the specs are 116 x 50 x 25 mm, and though it is a little big, it's not that bothersome. i can fit it even in my girlie jean pockets. i'd keep it in my purse anyway.

my first nokia. i was strongly against them but it had to be mine once i saw it. it's so pretty. and it makes a cool "woooosh!" sound when you flip it open - and an animation plays as the screen is flipped 180 degrees [as what was once the right way is now upside down when you open it, ya get me?].
and it has an international size converter.. i mean, what?! how unnecessary but cool.

Cool. It looked nokia communicator sized, a phone that managed to rip the inside little pocket meant for cell phones in my coat.

i've posted this in sureshots but i figure it's a very unique [for us in scotland anyhoo] purchase so it belongs here, methinks. i'm not a whore, please forgive me: we just lurve yr isht, usa! all the stuff below is a "gift" to me [partly] and a purchase by my flatmate who makes it a gift, so you get it. here's what he got of the few random [non-photographed] purchases he made:
he got some tissues - i'm researching right now - duane reade facial tissues, thayers dry mouth spray and drum tobacco "european style" - ha! which is much dryer than the normal rolling drum tobacco you get here, he says.
my flatmate scott was recently in the us of a with his band the cinematics playing at the south by southwest festival in texas and in nyc and came back with a few GOODIES - WITNESS:
what the fuck is up with your chewing gum packets? the wrappers inside are plain and white and stuck together - altho common chewing gum this is new to us. and 17 sticks? why the random number? curious!!!
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c361/nastee/IMG_0573.jpg
he also got some southern comfort and stoli gold at newark airport - maximum 2 litres [eh?!] but getting whatever volume of southern comfort we received and with american isht on it is a novelty so here is me lovin' it:
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c361/nastee/IMG_0580.jpg
me being gagged by one dollah:

me pretend-smoking 50 dollahs! it's useless here, scott, give me the paper to exchange!:

oooh mission hill. the oblongs, though? and drawn together? come on, man. have some friggin' standards.
my great aunt occasionally leaves gifts for me on my mom's doorstep. last time i went there she had left me this kettle...it was a gift to her from my father when i was really young, and i always loved it so much because it really personified her for me. one of her best friends was a sort of famous whimsical dragon artist. and she's so kooky and cool...she and i have a really close relationship. and she told me that she's moving pretty far away to be closer to her son's family, and that's really depressing for me. but anyway, she's getting rid of things and thought to give this to me because she knew how much i loved it. and now i'll always have a piece of her in my home.
http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d164/105cosmo/kettle1.jpg
http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d164/105cosmo/kettle2.jpg
she also gave me these jammies. she knows how much i love penguins. she does too. she actually brought me back some penguin feathers when she went to antarctica. :D

Get the PC version though, the console versions weren't as good (according to gamespot anyway).
is that any good? i hear good things about it.
Someone that I know that is "in the know", said that when the programmers, developers, artists and so on gave a presentation of it at EA, that no one clapped or anything after the presentation was over. I'm talking crickets, heart beats and people breathing were the only things heard. And usually, at presentations like that, there is at least a wee bit of clapping even if the product is shite.

It's one of the greatest and most rewarding things I've ever purchased. It's one thing to have your music as a computer file and be able to edit digitally, but to have a hard copy on a tape and having to edit and add all effects yourself is a challenge. Recording is a learing experience, let me tell you. But, for such an inexpensive unit, it's pretty full featured. the only thing it dosent have is the ability to record more than one track at a time, and theres a more expensive recorder for that.

they've got a bonus feature that I just now checked out. It's the too hot for tv and they have cops following a motorcycle gang. Some scag pulled down her shirt brcause a guy wanted a picture of her tits and the cop hauled her off for indecent exposure. I'll tell you this, I've seen better stuff on national geographic with kids hanging from them.

There comes a time in life when you have to wave goodbye to some things and open the door to new family.
My bass, of 15 years just decided that she can't do for me what she used to. I had to bury her, it was saddening. It was just a beginner's bass but it was with me for 15 lovely years and has managed to put out some beautiful sound, especially when I wound some new Ernie Balls on it.
I went to the music store with intentions of buying a new bass. Saw one, picked it up and strummed it a little.
Got to thinking a bit and decided that this is one fine assed axe. I want to learn gueeetar, to start all over again and this beauty is one of the finest in which to do it with.

Yeah, the whole album is mellow. His voice hasn't changed much from early Floyd days and his guitaring is as fascinating as ever.
The creation of the c.d. has a neat little history too, it was recorded on his boat on the Thames River.

the bass is a yamaha, its about 3 and a half years old. it was the best of the cheap models at guitar center when i bought it. ive really only messed around here and there with it, never had the chance to really learn how to play. i usually just make up my own riffs as i go

that's the brand of guitar I've got. It cost a pretty penny though, it's an AES series.
My old bass was a Fender and I wanted something completely different. I was about to get another Fender and saw my guitar and instantly loved it.
I do notice that even in the more affordable range, they still make quality equipment.

You got loads of friends!
There was a big flea market today. They claimed it the longest in the North, but the tables were a bit too far apart... they'd asked all the people around Hornstull and Hornsgatan (one long street) to bring down all the stuff they wanted to sell down to the street, the Green Party was quite involved in it as well, trying to get people into re-cycling.
I got these:
http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/5126/dsc00124sm4df.jpg
Magazine, Vapors, Lou Reed, Bob Mould, Clash' Combat Rock original with the poster, some VHS's (Peter Greenway, Clash' Rude boy, Wild at heart), candle holders, table mats and a black hippy-ish dress.
Could've gotten more if I'd had more money, there was quite a few videos and cd's that I had to leave behind....
Also I got this on vinyl yesterday

Last year it rained an awful lot and this year Saturday was quite disassterous. So I wanted to support them a bit more by buying the bag and T-shirt. Also they had José Gonzales' 7" for sale (with the original the Knife version of Heartbeats on the other side) and the Pipettes EP! I was well surprised! The cam is an old 3mpix Fujifilm cam that can take 6mpix pictures with interpolation that a friend of mine had lying around and the laptop is a pIII but with a 12" screen so it doesn't weigh a ton like my Vaio does. Got it very cheap second hand.

I get the "when pigs fly" reference but a frog? All I can think of is Cassandra in Wayne's World saying "yeah and if a frog had wings he wouldn't bump his ass when he hopped." Is that what it's in reference to?
How big is that thing, enree? It looks huge.

How big is that thing, enree? It looks huge. It's ~18" long and without its wings, it's maybe 3-4" across. Someone gave one to me as a gift maybe 10 years ago and a friend of mine always admired it. When her dad died recently, I bought that for her instead of sending flowers. It took a bit to find it, but it's the female version of the pig that's in my office. (I think it's female because it looks like it's wearing mascara. :))
They're called sprit chasers and I think they're from Indonesia. Spirit chaser are used to protect sleeping children from evil spirits. I don't know if that works or not. I just like that it was a pig with wings. :)
Heiress, I've seen these as flying cats and flying pigs--sometimes as flying women, but not a flying frog! I love that. I would buy that flying frog and make him stare down my flying pig.

So my brother went to Pittsburgh for the Pirates/Sox game on tuesday and wednesday (wednesday being my birthday), and I was kind of down and upset that he went without me. Having a job with responsibility is gay, by the way. So I was pretty sad, but then when he didn't even call to wish me happy birthday, I was pissed. Like raging pissed. I didn't say anything to him, though. He got home really late wednesday night, and I went downstairs to get some juice, at which time he presented me with this:

it was the first brand-new pro deck i ever rode. i had 3 after the original one. a few months back i had scoped ebay and some other places for hours on end looking for a 1st issue or a repro with no luck. our buddy from waaaay back in the day recently opened a skate shop again. (10 years apart).
my bro was over there dropping off some t shirt designs and spotted this beaut. he insisted on having it. the proprieter knew it was for me and gave it to him, straight up for the t shirt design.
a 3rd party had asked for my addy recently. i was thinking someone was going to drop some tim hortons coffee tins in the mail. today when i went to retrieve the package, my mind started racing when i saw the package come out. he omitted the sender / reciever names, but i recognized the sender address.
i gotta say, i was really moved when i unwrapped it. it was like going back in time, cracking ollies up the 4 stairs at the art gallery and doing handrails at the courthouse. i rode that ugly stick until there were only a few inches left on the nose and tail.
the repro has some curves the original didn't. i'd like to ride it, but i think it'd be best to keep it mint.
