here is a clue from a PM

As for the DVD, I am gonna get yelled at by Yauch (not really) for not being done with the video I'm trying to finish for 'Brouhaha,' but I don't know the schedule. Probably before summer.

I am posting from the school I work at to tell you all that I booked my plane tickets to San Juan and secured two concert tickets to the show!!

I am so pumped, I cant even tell you.

first of all, i told my boss i was planning this trip on the 11th, he asked me who I was going with, i told him I was going solo if I have to.

he gave me great news and a bit of advice:
he told me a fat bonus is coming my way, and that I should take my girlfriend with me, because the bonus will cover the cost of the entire vacation...

So i booked the plane tickets on Jet Blue($225 a piece)and got tickets to the show, then I called my girl(she came with me to the MSG show) and told her we are headed to SAN JUAN TO SEE THE BEASTIES!!!!

we are flying in late thursday night and we stay through Sunday, we still have to book a hotel, anyone know a good hotel in the financial district??("Coliseo De Puerto Rico is located in the heart of the financial center")

today, after work, we are headed to Baltimore for the three day weekend, so I probably wont be posting much, but heads up on anyone going to the concert, I wanna meet up!!

I am even thinking about making some customized shirts to celebrate "Pageantry"....

Challah at your boy....

Here's some info for those of you coming to Puerto Rico....Hope it helps.

If you go to ticketpop.com (you can translate the page if you click on a link that says ENGLISH near the top right of the page) you can only buy arena tickets right now (standing) for $50.00 + 4.00 handling fee.

When lookig for hotels look for the CHEAPEST you can find. To be perfectly honest hotels are kind of expensive here in PR. Anywhere in the following places should be fine: Isla Verde, Condado, San Juan or Old San Juan. Stay away from the brand name hotels because they are EXPENSIVE. If you go to http://www.gotopuertorico.com/ and click where it says Travel Planner or Interactive map on the bottom right of the page it will take you to this little map, under "Region" click on "North" and under "Type" click on "Small Inns/Paradors", then just click on the little orange button where it says San Juan on the map. This will take you a list of small hotels. I suggest that you call a few of them. Like I said, anywhere in Condado, San Juan, Old San Juan or Isla Verde will be fine.

Or.....you could just search on Hotels.com or orbitz, etc...but you probably won't find anything for less than 100.00-125.00 per night. I think the cheapest hotels would be the Howard Johnson or Comfort Inn.

And you can just take a cab to the concert...the coliseum is about 10 minutes away.

Have fun!!

Victor

Hi Victor! now that u mention that.. i think it's a great idea to take a taxi since there's a lot of problems when it comes to finding a parking near the choliseo..at least happened with Van Halen's concert.

from what I gather, the coliseum is in hato rey, east of coliseo de roberto clemente, but i cant find it on any maps because its brand new...
it looks like ocean park and isla verde are pretty close(to the coliseum), now i have to find a good deal on hotels in the $85-$100 range per night(or cheaper)...
also, is old san juan within walking distance from ocean park??
what is there to do around the colliseum the day of the concert?
i want to get there early the day of the show and get my tickets, but stay close so I can get a good spot when the gates open...
are the botanic gardens within walking distance of the Coliseo??
I have all day Saturday and Sunday to explore San Juan. I guess you could say we are on a budget, I dont need to go parasailing or anything like that, I just want to relax and see some nice beaches and lagoons and drink pina coladas all damn day...
where are the rainforests? are there any waterfalls?
bacardi factory?
any decent public trans?

I've been planning on visiting NY sometime this year anyway so i'm just gonna visit next month instead and fly over to Puerto rico for a few days afterwards.

Just been on the ticket website to try and buy tickets but you have to give a delivery address and zip code. Does that mean I can't buy a ticket if i'm not in the US or PR? Was hoping to book a ticket and collect it at the venue when i'm there.

It would be awesome if the new ATi train was open the day of the concert. The new train is about to start their services in the following 2-3 months but they started giving random service since december and it's sometimes running for special events like concerts since one of the stations is right next to the coliseum... i will be checking and i'll tell you guys later about that.
You can use the public bus since there are some stops around the coliseum but there's not so much attractive things to do around the coliseum since most of the building are banks and offices. The rainforest El Yunque is around an hour from San Juan; Ocean park and Isla verde are like 15-20 min from the coliseum. I think that the best beach in San Juan is the one in Isla Verde (it's parallel to the runway/airport). I really don't know a lot about the hotels but all I know that most of the hotels in Condado, Isla Verde and Ocean Park are expensive, you could ask 'vdelapr' since he told you he knows about the hotels. Wow i feel like a tour guide! :D
ohh one more thing , there's a lot of traffic after 5pm around the coliseum just to let u know

Public transportation here in PR is not that good. You can probably arrange a tour to the rainforest at your hotel (yes, there are waterfalls there). Otherwise I would recommend getting around in taxis, there's plenty of them around Isla Verde and Condado because this is a major touist area. If you're staying at Condado or Isla Verde and want to go to old san juan you'd have to take a cab or bus, its not too far but not close enough to walk.

Around the coliseum theres really not much to do, there's a huge shopping mall (Plaza las Americas) relatively close but its kinda far if you want to walk there.

We should all plan to meet at the show, I'm picking up my tickets this weekend....only 2 more weeks!!!!!

Take Care

Victor

what makes me the most upsaet is not the fact that we dont know why they did this, but to think that for the last thirty days we have been on this site, looking for updates, checking prices for airfare, waiting for the tickets to go out, booking everything, only to have our energy and enthusiasm SQUASHED by such a buzzkill like this one.

I hope i speak the same for any fans that were planning on crossing the globe to see the Beasties play, I understand your level of disappointment.

I dont wanna be mad at anyone here, and I certainly hope that there is no emergency that caused this, but I do feel like the fans deserve some sort of explanation...
