Can't sur blood from a rock I always say. But yeah. I have no idea what falls under fair use, but I'm pretty sure service marks and trade marks don't. I am worried about some of the logos that are more derivative. I'm thinking of changing them (which will be a pain in the ass).

I like how you re-imagined a bunch of those logos, GEA. Nice imagination. Even if it's a pain, you'd probably be glad if you went ahead and changed the other ones, too.

I wonder how MAD magazine got away with so many direct knock-offs over the years? There must be something about fair use in satire or commentary...

It occurs to me that sometimes a company will use another company's logo for product comparison and whatnot, as well.

Do you need all those logos on the cover? I think they make it all too confusing, your name and the booktitle just dissappear. Maybe the logos should be smaller and I agree that you should change them a little bit more so you won't get sued (I once made the olympic rings for a window display and got a very angry letter from those in charge).

you might want to consult with a lawyer just to be on the safe side...maybe you can just ask beth, she's a lawyer now. all lawyers know everything about the law, that's the rule, so she should know for sure.

the cover's cool, but it's kind of...busy. i like the second one better, it definitely helps.

Can it be sent across the pond to the UK. Cus I added to cart and put in my paypal account and didn't add any shipping to the UK even though it has my UK address up. Guess I'll be the one to be upfront. The covers look cheap and are unfortunately laughable. While the content of the book(s) may be good and interesting, the cover doesn't help either. Unfortunately, people judge books by the cover...so a bad cover will definitely make people turn away. This stuff looks too highschool for me. Just letting you know.

I like this one best. The only change I would even make (if I could) would be to imitate a more complicated/serif font for the title. Keeping it strictly sketch looks better than the colorized ones I think.

Drawing is fun. That was what I wanted to do with my life when I was a kid. So I find ways to work it into what I do with my life wherever I can.
