blonde beer with meat tastes great!

more specifically:

saute an onion, put it in the crock, chop up two carrots and put them in too. use four fist-sized chunks of your meat of choice (I used pork loin cut, the original recipe had cote de boeuf in french, which is like the rib of cut up in a piece with meat all around it) and brown them a little in a skillet with a few spices, add it to the pan. Add 1/2 liter of blonde beer and two parts of garlic chopped up. cover and put in oven on low for 8 hours.

I used some nice brussels blonde beer .... soooo goooood!

Vodka sauce is pretty good...

I use port in a stew recipe...yummy, marsala wine for chicken. White wine for steaming seafood, a mild red for cioppino (fish stew).

Sake and sake lees (the rice/yeast mix left at the bottom of a sake vat) in Asian cooking (sake is not wine, it's brewed).

if your into shrimp you can throw on a bit of wine or beer while cooking it, dont drown it though...mostly because it would taste like wined-fish...but if thats what your into then hey, who am i to stop you

I know a great marinade for beef that involves mixing worcheshire sauce with basil, oregano, garlic, onions, and Papst Blue Ribbon -- let it marinade for a couple of days, taste is top notch.
