i can't believe it...........que mierda... una semana antes del show cancelan?........., ya tenia tenia listas mis cervezas, mi acido y mis joints para disfrutar de un show de una banda que realmente es verdadera, esto no se vale, que me tengo que convertir en un puto bracero estupido y vivir en su puto pais para poder verlos??? no es justo , aaahhhh o tal vez tenga que trabajar durante 330 años para poder viajar a japon y verlos en sus 10 fechas que hacen por alla, que falta de consideracion soy fan de ustedes desde que recuerdo desde license to ill, desde el mundial de futbol del '86.......a ver cancelen una fecha en alemania o francia o japon, a ver que les dicen las personas de por alla, ahh pero cuando es "mexico" o "southamerica" ....you say:.."these countrys really don't care"... Ya lo escribi en otro lado pero lo voy a escribir otra vez. Te deberias de sentir afortunado de saber que ellos van a ir a tu pais algun dia, en cambio yo tengo que esperar una decada o mas para poder verlos. Que mal pedo. Neta. Hace mas de un mes vi que iban a venir, y es algo que yo habia esperado tambien por mas de 10 años. Sin embargo, no compre boleto porque la verdad ahorita ando medio jodidon. I just can say that I am really sad,I have been waiting for a long time for this concert, I have gone through many stuff to get the money for my and my girlfriend's ticket, this concert was one of the small amount of reasons I still eant to live, I hope the cancellation was because there was something bad in the administration of the concert and not because a personal problem of one of the magnificent beastie boys.
This concert was going to be an explosion, the first time the Beasties were going to present in Mexico, maybe they don't know it, but there are a LOT of fans here.
All we can do is to keep the hopes up guys, they will come one of this days, and I bet my life on it, I will go to the concert and I will pay as much as it is required to see them. Peace.

Yeah, I hmmed too -- but I also asked if they plan to reschedule in the near future, why are they refunding tickets? Most bands instruct fans to hold on to their tix and use them for the rescheduled date.

I'm not sure about protocol...but it makes sense that they would refund tix for those that cannot attend a rescheduled show.

More than likely, they DO NOT have any additional information. I know some of you are legitimately concerned and I know others are angry. All I can say is that when they are able to re-schedule, I am sure they will.

On a personal note, I have had tickets and made reservations to go see my favorite band and had them cancel. It's extremely disappointing but as (I think wints said) it's not like them to purposely fuck over their fans and I can guarantee you that isn't the case here.

Yeah, I'd find it hard to disagree with your points, I still stand by everything i've said though. I mean, honest to God, my immediate reaction in the heat of the moment would be one of concern for why they cancelled, not mouthing off rudely to the band that gave you the oppourtunity anyway.

He said that more than likely the concerts had gotten postponed due to a family emergency. This person still wasn't sure of the specifics though.

Don't worry i'm sure they will come back. It's frustrating though I remember on the Hello Nasty tour in 99 a week or so before the Sydney Show they cancelled but came back a few months later. It ending up being for the best. They played at a better venue and played 2 shows instead of the one. Goodluck maybe they will do the same in Mexico (y)

That doesn't necessarily mean anything. When I've been in ring relationships, I've sometimes worn it and sometimes haven't. I often wear one of my mom's wedding rings. She had two of them--an around-the-house one and the one that she actually used on her wedding day, which she lost once, hence the around-the-house ring. That everyday one was my favorite. Very simple.

in my opinion, being a musician/entertainer is one of the coolest careers to have. but again people, it's a job and we have all called out on our jobs before due to personal reasons. of course most of our jobs don't effect others so greatly like the beasties job does but i was just sayin'.

He said that more than likely the concerts had gotten postponed due to a family emergency. This person still wasn't sure of the specifics though.

Hey pues que puedo decir, pues la neta que lastima, la verdad pienso que los beasties van a regresar a tocar al DF, yo pienso que mi experiencia fue peor. Yo soy de Tijuana y pues tuve la oportunidad de verlos tocar en San Diego y todo empezo bien pero despues todo valio madre por culpa del sonido, los beasties cantaron como 5 rolas y solo se escuchaban sus letras, pero la musica no se escuchaba. Despues corrigieron el sonido y estuvo mas o menos, pero la neta ya los habia visto en el Coachella y esa vez estuvo perro y pues cuando supe que iban a estar en San Diego pense que iba a estar mas cabron pero no fue asi, y la neta pague como 50 o 60 dlls por mi boleto, asi que la verdad se me hizo muy mal pedo pagar tanta feria.

Pero no se awiten tal vez le paso algo a algun familiar de ellos y si hubieran tocado asi tal vez hubiera estado mas culero que al concierto que yo fui

Se ke ha mexico van buenas bandas, aka en mi pais, jueputa, lo mejorsito ke ha venido kreo ke fue Bon Jovi hace siglos y de resto puro argentino y demas.

Yes, well, if they do come to Toronto (I've only become a fan quite recently, I don't know whether they've been here, or how many times), my parents probably wouldn't let me go. And having the boys in your city and not being able to go see them would hurt me a lot more than buying tickets and having them cancel/postpone the show.

If the excuse the band gave for the cancellations is true (i.e., the family emergency), I admire them for having their priorities right. Family should come before anything else. If the excuse given was false, well...I'm not sure what to think about that.

I guess that you have to believe their excuse and not demand more of an explanation. A family emergency is not our business. They don't owe us an explanation about what's going on with their families.

I hope they recognize that IF they had said something -- a little something -- it might have prevented some of the bad feelings about the cancellations. It's difficult to understand when a person can do something to help a bad situation but doesn't do anything. A simple comment (not an explanation) might have really helped.

I agree, I'd never take the tone of the name of this thread...it's too harsh for me.

But in regards to an official explanation, the only word that we the fans got was from the promoter in Puerto Rico and I think it was translated from Spanish...and you know how promoters are (or maybe you don't) they can be a shady bunch. I assume when you say "you" you're speaking generally or are referring to the board members who want more of an explanation about the cancellations. Personally, I don't expect or need more of an explanation from them. There've been things in my life that I would hate to have made public in detail.

I raised this aspect of the topic because if they do read these boards, I hated that they'd see that hurtful subject line and its angry face so often, particularly at what might be a stressful time already. And me posting here is making it appear once more.

There's plenty of people I simply respect on this board, I think some of the best fans of any band in the world are right here, but clouding them with shit like I've seen in this thread is just sad for everyone.

Gosh, I've been seeing this thread title pop up time and again and it just hurts for the above reasons so aptly put by dave790. Not to bump this awful title or anything, but I just wanted to let it be known that this fan would never say such balogna. I'm sure they'll reschedule. Who knows, maybe I can make it this time!?
