Channel 4 (UK)
11:05pm - 12:05am

Series telling the story of censorship in Britain over the last two decades, using interviews with censors, archive footage and previously banned material. This edition covers the period between 1985 and 1989, when Gerry Adams' voice was banned from the airwaves and the Beastie Boys were causing controversy.

What did Gary Bushell say? Because in the Rhymin' And Stealin' book on the boys by Angus Batey, it states that Bushell wrote articles that stirred up tensions before and during the UK tour in '87. He was making stuff up about being threatened by hip-hop fans outside gigs and stuff, generally giving the impression that hip-hop and the Beastie Boys were dangerous.

He was saying that people didnt really get the joke, that they didnt realise they were making fun of the frat boys. He was quite positive really.

Thanks. Well then, he's changed his tune. I'm pretty positive he didn't get the joke back then either.
