What would you like to be able to cook?

Most cooking is actually very simple, once you understand a bit about how basic ingredients interact. As I grew up in the US, my cooking bible is the very old-fashioned but extremely useful Better Homes and Gardens cookbook. I do not know if you can get this here in the UK. However, everyone I have spoken to about cooking here says that you simply cannot beat Delia Smith.

Also, as much as you may want to hate the fella, Jamie Oliver's first cookbook is chock full of damn good, easy, well-explained recipes.

As you are only in Reading, if you seriously would like to learn one or two things, we could possibly arrange a dinner date.

I'm an awesome cook..Thanks to cooking classes in high school. The best thing to do is like what Ms.Peachy said; Buy a cook book. And at that, do buy Jamie Oliver's books. Look on the internet for recipies aswell. Start off easy, french toast or pancakes from scratch. Then start baking, cookies, to bread then pastries (I can't cook pastry yet..) then meat, like chicken..

It's not somthing you can be good at in a few weeks, like counter strike..But well worth it in two ways. Girls love it..And it tatses good.

my mom's old school Joy of Cooking book taught her a lot, as well as homemaker classes in high school. she actually received the Betty Crocker Homemaker of the Year award when she graduated. if they only knew she'd go on to be a high class businesswoman...anyway, definitely get a good starter book, nothing too fancy, because a lot of them can be really intimidating. the most important thing is to experiment :)

Look up a recipe online or some from relatives. Try it out yourself. Don't be afraid to screw it up or deviate. Learn how to cook four dishes really well instead of trying to do everything.

It worked for Robert Rodriguez.

Boil cubed potatoes and melt butter..Add minced garlic to the butter and heat it again. When the potatoes are done, put the butter on the potatoes..Easy side dish, eh? Boil corn on the cob...easyer

Next; Mix black bean, Soya, canola and / or olive oil, minced garlic, oregano, basil, Lemon juice, Salt and pepper, and brush on a fresh salmon and let it sit for 30 mins to an hour. Next, wrap in tin foil and put in a pre heated BBQ. Cook for 15-20 mins, or till it is a light pink all the way in the middle.

(catch the salmon or buy at a local marina...Never buy at a supermarket, ever..I worked were they processs those salmon. Not in 14 years of fishing have I seen such weird crap attatched to their insides.)

its real easy,
alls you need is a stove and a oven
and a barbacue if youre real fancy
or you can just make ill salads with whatever you want

but for breffix i stole this recipe from my boss:
fava beans sauteed in olive oil and then mushed
mixed with
lots lemon juice, garlic, salt, peppa, jalapenos, crushed red pepper, hott sauce, whatever, then more olive oil to make it like a dip
then eat with pita and eggs
its spicey and delicious

and cookbooks are dope, specially thisun:
