View Full Version : Inspiration?
Right, i'm literally all out of ideas for stencils now. I had a few but they're all gone, my head is fucking empty.
So, post images here. They can be anything, people, animals, whatever. I'll pick out a decent one sometime soon, get all the necessary materials and make it into a stencil.. or i might find an image myself and disregard the thread altogether.
Go!

probably too much to make a stencil from.

It could work. Probly need a grey for the shirt but yeah. Seperate layer for the shadows and all that.
You wouldn't be able to tell it was him, though. Even from the photo.
what about these?

The last pic (and the guitar as well) is of a band that both Teh and me gusta mucho. Teh makes stencils (paper cut-outs) so you can spray the images in appropriate places (not on public walls!) and needed some nice pics that are easy to make stencils from. ¿Comprende?

Yeah, i did the tank, the chech rebel and the mouse. Most of 'em are in the artwork thread i think?
That turntable stencil kicks ass!
Edit: Thanks for posting pics, y'all. I'm gonna take a few and make them into stencils sometime this weekend once i've been to the art store. Cheers! (y)

^That's 3 layers.
What i'd probly end up doing would be spraying a black box the size of the image, then adding the light grey areas (face, slight strokes on hair, etc), and then finally some darker greys for detail on his hand and hair.
And then more black for the eye detail. So it'd probably end up being 4 layers, all in all.
I might take it upto 5 layers.
oh wow.
thats really awesome, Tim. I'm very impressed (y)

word.
and as a side note, if anyone would want to take that Ian Cutris sencil and put it on a black 2x t-shirt, and then send that shirt to me, I would much appreciate it and would send you money.
I like big t-shirts (y)
How about a canvas?
I've got a big A2 one that needs to be used. Was gonna use it last year in a school project but didn't have time (deadlines).

if you'd be willing to give it to me (y)
I'd find a way to pay for postage, or I'd just send you some money. you guys can excange US bills there, right?
Yeah. I'm suggesting the canvas cos i haven't ever used fabric paint (or whatever it is). If i can get my hands on some a t-shirt may be in order.
I still need the black to actually make the stencil though, heheh. I'm re-cutting my rebel one right now so i'll get round to the Curtis one soon.

No! Fuck Matt, make me the Beasties one on canvas, I've got boobs!
Fuck Matt
I'll never get tired of hearing you say that
and I asked first
She makes a good point though.
Ahh! I've already gone and printed the Curtis one. I'll see how that turns out then give the Beasties one a try, and maybe one of B-grrlies, yo.

Watchout Matt. When you're not looking, one day BAM someone will come up and say something you're not expecting and you will be like huh??
YEAH JUST WAIT
Right, well, i made that Curtis image into a stencil but didn't have any paint, so i used a pencil instead:

Bearing in mind that it's pencil through the holes, ey!
oooh, wow. fookin great, tim.
I've gotta have this on a t-shirt. the only Joy Division shirt I can find is the Closer album cover. and I don't wear white.

I used to have this T-shirt, then my sister borrowed it and some guy stole it from her :(
http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P/B000042O1H.02.LZZZZZZZ.jpg
We also painted that on our wall, really huge, when we still lived at home (we'd painted two walls black, on the other one we painted Stiff Little Fingers Inflammable material cover (or just one line of those flames) http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P/B00005OB0G.02.MZZZZZZZ.jpg
we painted the third wall red, with brushstokes horizontally so you could see them.
When our parents sold the house the new owners didn't wanna paint over those, because they liked them so much

I liked that.
It gave me an idea - Did you ever see my Bush/Blair acrylic work? You could stencil those two holding guns in the air.
They were waving, so all you need to do is draw guns in their hands.

Yeah. It was pretty cool! It'd look good on a tshirt! That's what i'm trying next with the Curtis stencil i posted earlier in pencil.
