View Full Version : What a F'n joke: 50 and Game call truce

g-mile7

guess they hoodwinked them 1.1million people who bought 50's lp.

50 Cent publicly severed ties with the Game last week, but on Wednesday (March 9) the two are apparently going to squash their beef in front of the world with the hope of setting an example for hip-hop.

At 2 p.m. in New York's Harlem

neighborhood, 50 and Game will be holding a press conference about their differences and will also pledge donations to charity: The rappers will give a combined $253,000 to the Boys Choir of Harlem, and an unspecified amount to the Compton Unified School District music program.

"I'm launching a new foundation, the G-Unity Foundation, Inc., to help people overcome obstacles and make a change for the better in their lives ... to help them overcome their situations," 50 Cent said in a statement. "I realized that if I'm going to be effective at that, I have to overcome some of my own. Game and I need to set an example in the community."

"I see this as a real opportunity to show the power of our community," Game said in his own statement. "50 and I are proving that real situations and real problems can be solved with real talk. This can also be seen as a big step for my organization, Black Wall Street, in terms of making a difference. Maybe we can help save some lives ... the way rap music saved mine."

The well-publicized split between Game and 50 occurred last week when 50 appeared on New York radio twice in one day denouncing the Compton, California, native, calling him treacherous and jealous. 50's tirade ended when he was abruptly escorted from Hot 97 in the midst of his interview with Funkmaster Flex. Game and his crew came up to Hot 97 when 50 was on the air but were denied entrance to the building. A 24-year-old man, also from Compton, was shot when Game's crew got into a confrontation with another faction outside the building (see "50 Drops Game From G-Unit; Shots Fired At Radio Station").

In the wake of the shooting, 50 has appeared on television twice and downplayed the incident (see "50 Cent Makes First Public Comments Since Shooting Incident").

You can check out complete coverage of 50 and Game's press conference on "Direct Effect" tonight at 7 p.m. ET.

however i will be concerned if nas doesn't rip it hard outta 50, it seems silly to mention them in the same sentence but still...

yeah, I just heard about this. What a fucking joke. I should have seen this publicity stunt from a mile away.

50's new album isn't anything great, by the way. He only cares about the money at this point. (n)

It's a real pity that these guys can pretend to be setting a good example over reconciling some fake beef.

Game's album smokes 50's..

(y) Damn straight!

I knew this beef was fake, just as well any "beef" 50 has had. I think there was only one true beef in rap history, you know what I'm talking about, Pac and Biggie. And we don't need anymore of that!

I was thinking today about how these 'hip hop money stars' should be putting some money in where it counts
Same goes with hockey playas and basket ballers
If 50 cent wants to give back to the community, that's "aight"
As far as him and the Game
Who cares!
Too bad that mainstream hip hop is mostley about how much money yer getting or in the Game's case how much he's going to get....
Rappers need to be making rhymes that are timeless - raps that make you use your noodlez

I guess that this is the rap conspiracy theorists thread.

Beef sells, but I don't think that this was "staged" from the beginning. People said the same thing about the BIG and Pac thing, and they seem to both be pretty dead to me. There's power in numbers, not division.

50 starts shit with everybody, and it seems like Game plans on doing the same thing (dissing Jay-Z and whoever over petty reasons, for example). 50 flew off the handle and just started talking slick in interviews as usual. He always airs his personal problems out publicly, which is how he keeps getting accused of being some kind of snitch. He's just a crybaby, and now people in his corner (like maybe Dre and Jimmy Iovine) are telling him to drop it. There's nothing more to it, I'm sure.

This beef just makes him look like a huge bitch. Dropping it like that probably at the insistence of his higher ups. They are little kids. Too bad Nas is going to murder him in short order. He also goes off on Eminem in the song (if those are the real lyrics) and I'm glad.

just weird given how 50 doesnt make up with nobody, plus who ever heard of a beef lasting only 3weeks and occuring when the rapper involved has an lp dropping? Just fishy to me, not saying they couldnt have been at each other (after all sum1 did get shot) but still, whoever heard of 50 backing down from a possible beef to move even more units.

Plus anybody who said the Pac/biggie beef was staged obviously didnt read the Vibe article with Pac disscussing why he felt that biggie/puffy knew he was going get shot. Those people were dumb indeed.

I'm not, just trying to prove a point." It must be everyone else because I like the album" just don't fly. But IMO I found the album unlistenable. Tracks as a whole, not the beats.

I'm just sayin.

I can respect how you feel about dude as a "lyricist", but really. If Nas or Ghostface laced the beats for Gunz Come Out or I'm Supposed To Die Tonight, I'm sure there wouldn't be a problem. As a matter of fact, I Don't Need 'Em uses the same sample as Ghost's Metal Lungies.

Why even continue discussing in a discussion board if you don't give a fuck what anyone has to say...

ANYWAYS, getting back on topic.

Yah, probably, and I haven't heard each song enough to know what or who he sampled, I couldn't take it after 30 sec. of each song.

The instrumental thing was a bit of a joke, wouldn't bother with that. And I actually listened to the song in my car so.. My bad.

I think the problem was that we (my friends and I) were so disgusted with some of the tracks (one of the guys was a big 50 fan, hates Nas) that we must have skipped over the "alright" tracks. If you can tell which those are I might give the CD another spin.
