Produced/Written By: RadioFiend

1-It takes a nation of millions to hold us back - Pubic Enemy

IT TAKES A NATION OF MILLIONS TO HOLD US BACK is the most important hip-hop album of all time. An surpassed
adventure of funky beats, political masseges and some of the most controversial verses of all time. No other
hip-hop album out there sound like it and no other album ever will. It's also hip-hop's biggest sign of change,
never before an album sound so powerful in its deleivery and massege. Put that aside, it's also a musical
masterpiece. Bring the noise is a groundbraking song, "Black steel in the house of Chaoes" is easiely one of
the best written songs ever and rebel without a pause is one of the most important songs of the last 25 years.
Yet it's the greatest hip-hop album of all time not because of its huge influence, it's just the best hip-hop music
ever prodcued. It's a landmark album and the most radical political statemnt to ever go platinum.

2-Straight outta Compton - N.W.A

This was the start of west cost gangsta rap, While N.W.A were not the fathers of gangsta rap (Ice-T did it before
them) but they were the first group to commercialize it. Dr.dre, Eazy-E, MC Ren, Ice-Cube and DJ yella created a
hip-hop masterpiece. The first 5 songs alone are the most powerful in Rap music Bar none. The legendary "fuck Tha
Police" is arguably the most controversial song of all time. It simply doesnt get realer than Straight outta
Compton or anywhere else.

3-Paid in Full - Eric B. Rakim

As the most influential Hip-Hop album of the Goldon Age, Paid in full is one of the most important recording of all
time. Before this album came out Drum beats were the main instruments in Hip-Hop, this album Changed hip-hop forever,
It's the first album to use heavy use of James Brown samples. There are 7 songs on it and 2 instrumental tracks,
Rougly 6 of the songs are now hip-hop standards. "it aint where you from, it's where you at" that's a famous Quote
from the Greatest, most influential MC of all time. "I know you got Soul" "I Aint no Joke' remain lyrical Benchmarks
That was later perfected by Nas, big and Jay-z.

4-The Chronic - Dr. Dre

THE CHRONIC is the blueprint of west cost rap of the 90s, and definitly one of the definitye hip-hop albums of all time.
It's also HUGLY Influential, it was the first album to use soul Samples and G-Fun beats. Classics like "Nutting But
A thang" "Dr Day" and "Lil Ghetto Boy" are among the finest rap music ever.

5-Raising Hell - Run-Dmc

Raising Hell made alot of people take Hip-Hop Seriously. It's Hip-Hop's Firest Double-Platinum certified album.
It storms out of a musical gate, one of the few albums that defined transition from old school to new school.
How many lines of PETER PIPER Have become the hook to hip-hop songs out there? Too many. Historical album? Definitly.
No other one out there sounded like Run-Dmc and this album is the reason why.

6-Illmatic - Nas

This is Nas's Famous Stunning Debut. The album that launched a revolutionary literate rapping talent. Nas produced a 9-
song masterpiece that will stand the test of time. The production is also some of the best, with amazingly talented
Producers like Dj primir, Q-Tip, Pete Rock and L.E.S All produce some of the most infectious beats of all time. But
the real star is The rapper himself, where he boasts lyrical genuis, NY state of mind starts with Nas saying "i dont
Know how to start this" then he kicks some amazing wordplay, when people heard that song the first time, they went
crazy. No one is educated lyrically till they've heard Illmatic. it's rap poetry in its finest form.

7-Ready to die - Notorious B.I.G

Nas might Have been the lyrical Genuis of the east-cost, but Biggie has the best flow of all time. Shortly 5 months
after Nas's landmark debut was released, Biggie dropped This album, the album that brought the east cost back in
the scene after its absence for a long time. biggie's talent is rarely lacking. today it's recognized as one of the
best hardcore album ever produced. When the album ends with the Jaw-Dropping "Suicidal Thoughts" your aw will surly
Drop by how good this album.

8-Strictly Business - EPMD

One of the most influential hip-hop albums of all time, it's a sampling landmark. The title song is an instant classic
song, Let the funk Flow has the same beat that Nas used for his 1999 Hit Nastradamus. Coutless hip-hop artists samples
lines and beats from this landmark album. It remains an essential album for its revolutioanry use of samples.

9-Criminal Minded - Boogie Down production

One of the first hip-hop albums to show gangsta rap themes, KRS's all time classic debut is also one of the first
albums to feature pop samples, the beggining of the title song use a a portion of the beatles HEY JUDe. "The bridge
over" still is looked as the blueprint for diss records. Krs probebly made better album but he never made any influentia.

10-By All Means Neccessary - Boogie down production

KRS Returned with another classic sophomore album, the album is knows for its consiousness and political masseges.
"My philosephy" is KRS view of hip-hop culture. all in all, By all means Neccessary stands as a Political landmark
album that's overshowded by Public Enemy's IT TAKES A NATION OF MILLIONS TO HOLD US BACK.

11-Life after Death - Notorious B.I.G

It took Biggie 3 years to follow his milestone debut "Ready to die" But when he returned, he did so in a huge way.
Continuing his brilliant storytelling (Somebody gotta die, Niggas Bleed, etc..) Life after death in an Exhilirating
Sparwl, arguably hip-hop's finest double album. Ready to die Might be more angrier and revolutionary, but it's now
where as Epic as LIFE AFTER DEATH.

12-DoggyStyle - Snoop Dogg

One of the most popular and influential gangsta albums of the 90s, and the first debut album to debut at number
on the billboard charts. Snoop has one of the most recognizable and greatest voice in hip-hop. Going through hip-hop
classics like "Gin and Juice", MURDA WAS THE CASE is still a classic street anthem. With this album, Snoop established
himself as the greatest rap vocalist of all time.

also, i don't like how this list tells me what is good. like i don't like hip-hop if i don't like these 12 records.

and tell me you didn't spend two days to write an article for a fucking message board.

and, how does one "produce" a list.

and, fuck, nevermind...this thread is gay.

there are many great hip-hop albums.biggie sucks.illmatic is way overrated.dre is good for his style but way overrated compared to the albums above.the other are golden age hip-hop classic and most i like them but well, are too old school and simple and anyway even if mantronix was older its ahead of its time and more great in production, even though not as good lyrically.and lets not forget dj records from guys like kid koala or q-bert and instrumental hip-hop.
