ah yeah. well I would, except I participated in all the other war protests to end war in Iraq and it didn't stop a thing. In fact things only got worse. I've come to the conclusion that protesting is innefective. the government really doesn't care if I take to the streets with a hand made sign for peace. the only way they are gona listen is to stop commerce. hit em where it hurts thier pocket books! so if you can figure out a way to stop people from spending us dollars, we might have a fighting chance.

while marching, break things*, like:
store windows
atms
stop lights
etc.
*not a suggestion or an order, simply a collection of words

ah yes..I think they call that a riot.
I'd like to say violence is not the answer..but mass rioting might wake the goverment up a bit. But again you have to get a whole lot of people who will take they risk of being incarcerated. the only way it's gonna have imapct is if ther are sooooo many people to arrest that the legal system can't handle it. it would have to be chaos on a large scale. that's when they'll realize they've lost control and they'll call the national guard to take us out. which won't be very nice with all that tear gas and stuff. no that plan endangers too many people.

we would have to throw a clog at the wheel of commerce. and the only way to do that would be to get everyone to stop spending money, period. which would require business owners to bring back a bartering system of some kind so that no money exchanges hands.
however the power company probably won't like the fact that businesses aren't paying thier light bills and they'd put us in the dark. So we'd need alot of strong generators to keep things running....
humm as you can see this would take total cooperation and team work from the american people. and we can't seem to get behind ideas like that. we'd rather go kill someone.

Rioting, the unbeatable high
Adrenalin shoots your nerves to the sky
Everyone knows this town is gonna blow
And it's all gonna blow right now...
Now you can smash all the windows that you want
All you really need are some friends and a rock
Throwing a brick never felt so damn good
Smash more glass
Scream with a laugh
And wallow with the crowds
Watch them kicking peoples' ass
But you get to the place
Where the real slavedrivers live
It's walled off by the riot squad
Aiming guns right at your head
So you turn right around
And play right into their hands
And set your own neighbourhood
Burning to the ground instead
Riot, the unbeatable high
Riot, shoots your nerves to the sky
Riot, playing into their hands
Tomorrow you're homeless
Tonight it's a blast
Get your kicks in quick
They're callin' the national guard
Now could be your only chance
To torch a police car
Climb the roof, kick the siren in
And jump and yelp for joy
Quickly, dive back in the crowd
Slip away, now don't get caught
Let's loot the spiffy hi-fi store
Grab as much as you can hold
Pray your full arms don't fall off
Here comes the owner with a gun
Riot, the unbeatable high
Riot, shoots your nerves to the sky
Riot, playing into their hands
Tomorrow you're homeless
Tonight it's a blast
The barricades spring up from nowhere
Cops in helmets line the lines
Shotguns prod into your bellies
The trigger fingers want an excuse
Now
The raging mob has lost its nerve
There's more of us but who goes first
No one dares to cross the line
The cops know that they've won
It's all over but not quite
The pigs have just begun to fight
They club your heads, kick your teeth
Police can riot all that they please
Riot, the unbeatable high
Riot, shoots your nerves to the sky
Riot, playing into their hands
Tomorrow you're homeless
Tonight it's a blast
Tomorrow you're homeless
Tonight it's a blast...

Brilliant! Lets 'throw a cog in the wheel of commerce'. You must be independently wealthy or just mooch off your parents. Typical No. Cal. ideology.

lick my clit dude. I'm not wealthy by any means..I struggle to make rent every month.
I'm saying if you want change it takes more that walking the streets with 10,000 people and a bunch of homemade signs. I pointed out the flaws in all of the methods I discussed. I never said it would work. Infact I said it would never work because people wouldn't come together to support what it would take to accomplish it.

I'm just saying that your idea would affect the common hard working people more than the government. A 'peaceful' protest will only piss a few cops off and clog some streets.
p.s. Only if it's pierced.

*Clog* - as in "Sabot" - the origin of the word "Sabotage".
See kids, Star Trek is informative.

nice..
so nothing will work, so let's resign ourselves to suffer, all the while lamenting the horrible atrocities we see unfolding in the globe around us.
i for one think protests and marches creates awareness. awareness creates curiosity. curiosity brings understanding. and understanding brings change.
if it's all hopeless, what's the point of complaining about it?
