There are some worrying trends beginning to emerge now.

to emerge now?

c'mon...

this is the middle of the beginning...

Fascism is on the way...
neo-con global dominance is the plan.
ultimately, I think it will only end up destroying the u.s.
so at least that is a good end.
but the amount of people who die along the way makes me think it's not really worth it.

Sorry if I am taking it out of context but, this shouldn't be a "good" thing. We should be trying to prevent it.

Oh and Wolfovitz? I thought some of his other appointees were quite objectionable, but this one takes the proverbial cake.

Well, I guess i meant destroying the u.s. in it's current form.

Ok that's what I thought you meant. Be thankful you aren't Ward Churchill.

why does the U.S. get to nominate (read: appoint) the head of the WORLD Trade Orignization? That's like the winner of the NFL's superbowl being called WORLD Champions.

Shouldn't the all 148 member states get a say? I know they can veto or they have some sort of plan in place for that, but no one ever uses it. It would be great if they had to have like 5 nominations from 5 different natons, and then every voted anonymously. That way, maybe the WTO wouldn't be so u.s.-centric.

just my thought...

In testimony before Congress Wolfowitz continued to stick to ideology (http://www.mindfully.org/Reform/2003/Wolfowitz-Grilled-Iraq30jul03.htm) and dodge accountability in the face of tough questions from both Democrats and Republicans.

Those who thought Bush might be less partisan and more conciliatory in his second term have likewise been dissapointed. No reason to expect change from Wolfowitz now, or that the Bush administration is putting him in the post for that reason.

Just in case you're all curious.

The Bank Working Group to Review the Process (http://web.worldbank.org/WBSITE/EXTERNAL/EXTABOUTUS/ORGANIZATION/PRESIDENTEXTERNAL/0,,contentMDK:20041074~menuPK:604398~pagePK:139877 ~piPK:199692~theSitePK:227585,00.html) for Selection of the President.

true that it sucks : (, unwritten rule , an american is head of WTO, a european is president of IMF

anyway, they provide the funds, they get to point the president, this logic puts wolfy on top : (
