Finally got a chance to purchase and watch last night.
a pretty well done doc that really lays Foxnews (http://www.outfoxed.org) out on the canvas and really shows them for what they are....
and it's ALOT worse then you think.
Obvioulsy, this an extremely one-sided documentary...which will immediantly not sit well with many documentary purists (i somewhat agree). there should be a differance between documentary and editorial opinion on film.
This Doc really expliots all the "tricks" that Fox repeatadly employs...so much that as soon as finish the DVD, you can flip to Fox news and catch the tricks in progress within 5 min...
amazing.
and scarry.

If we assume that there isn't anything in that movie that isn't true, what would you have liked to see in Outfoxed to show Fox's side of the story?
Is there such a thing?
Oh and consider that I haven't seen it in quite a bit.

D, are you okay? You've dug up two old threads and asked two people that have left (okay, one that left, one that's undergone a name change) where they've been. Just a bit odd.

He didn't bump the threads, he just read the bumped threads not realising they were old.
Just like I did before you posted :o
one that left, one that's undergone a name change.Which one?!?!? whois or assman?
Can't be assman, no pron references and whois has a istinctive style... unless that's changed, too.

What I find amusing is that many extreme right wingers are now complaining that Fox has gone liberal.
Could be that Fox has finally decided to report the truth more.

yeah, i'd be willing to bet that what the conservative right wingers call "extreme liberal bias" is actually "truthful, unbiased reporting"

i was staying in a hotel last week and watched ten minutes of fox news, and i was shocked and amused that 4 out of 5 panelists were not the usual fare, who could be called liberals, maybe even leftists by american standards....and then the one loud obnoxious white puke...
has fox gone soft?
it was mostly an intellient discussion... (y)

Unbiased news is a myth. All news is somewhat biased, some are just moreso than others.

I didn't know about this documentary when it was first released. Thanks for posting about it, Qdrop.
I put it on my netflix queue and watched it over the weekend. I don't know much about news journalism and thought the producers did a pretty good job of explaining how the Fox format deviates from the norm (and not in a good way).
I didn't learn a huge amount of new stuff, but the documentary confirmed what I've heard and have suspected about Fox, and gave me some new language and talking points to use with a friend of mine who is a Fox News proponent.

I think it's quite creepy that it's all so blatant, and the worse bit is that it's all out in the open, proven and yet nobody does anything about it.
Why does the FCC go up against potty mouths and not against liars and deceivers?
Oh wait... Federal... :(

That's exactly how I felt while watching it: creepy.
"Some people say" Fox is fair and balanced, but this documentary shows that their industry peers know that it's not. They know it. Do we really only have the opinion of people left of center and this documentary to show that.
