Does anyone have a good recipe for tacos, chicken or beef perhaps? I have looked elsewhere, but all the recipes call for taco sauce mix. I want to know how to make the damned sauce myself.

Anyone?

Edit: I forgot to say please. So - Please.

sauce? pah! that's for honkeys. all you need is some good beef left in the ol' crock pot for a day, none of that ground beef bullshit. then place it in a corn tortilla, fry the sucker (but make sure you use a screen or you will look like the phantom of the opera), then add your salsa, sour cream, tomatoes, lettuce, sharp cheddar cheese, hot sauce, et cetera.

I love beef or chicken tacos byt when I was in the Baja I developed a serious addiction to corner/beach fish taco stands,seriously...I'll give ya the salsa bit 1st...then you insert whatever protein ya like (y)

For the salsa

3 medium tomatoes, about 8 ounces each

1 jalapeƱo pepper

2 quarts water(what the hell is a quart?...damn being canadian, damn the metric system)

3 cloves garlic

1 8-ounce white onion

1/2 bunch fresh cilantro, weighing about 2 ounces.

Kosher salt to taste

Mexican fish (beef,chicken,even swine!) taco:

1 pound white fish filet cut into 1-inch wide strips

1/2 cup corn meal

2 tablespoons salt

1 tablespoon chili powder

Taco stuffing:

1/2 head green cabbage shredded , about 4 cups

2 tomatoes, diced

8 6-inch soft flour tortillas

2 limes, quartered

Preparing the fish....Place cut strips of fish in a large bowl and toss gently with the corn meal, kosher salt and chili powder. Place the strips on a baking sheet in one layer and place on the middle rack of a preheated 400-degree oven. Bake for 10 minutes or until the fish strips are just cooked through.

Remove the fish strips from the oven and begin assembling the tacos. Do this in the kitchen or bring all the fixin's out to the table and encourage your amigos to make their own.

"D.I.Y that means do it yourself..." Mike D

Enjoy senora!!
