Texas Lawmaker wants to put the brakes on "Sexy Cheerleading (http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/ap/20050318/ap_on_re_us/suggestive_cheerleading_5)".

"It's just too sexually oriented, you know, the way they're shaking their behinds and going on, breaking it down," said Edwards, a 26-year veteran of the Texas House. "And then we say to them, 'don't get involved in sex unless it's marriage or love, it's dangerous out there' and yet the teachers and directors are helping them go through those kind of gyrations."

....for public school cheerleading, I think this idea is pretty good. I don't like the idea of public schools sanctioning packaging their kids as sexual commodities.

I think if you're gonna do it it should be done across the board..private and public schools. I mean I know catholic girls automatically get billed as sluts, but thier patrents don't like the idea of packaging thier kids as sexual commodties either.

...I guess what I was thinking was that the courts could mandate that sort of thing in public schools, but maybe not in private schools. Certainly not in professional football.

I see. come to think of it..private schools are probably already more consiencious of making sure that the routines aren't to sexual. the private schools pretty much answer directly to the parents who are paying tuition.

....yeah, but there are probably private schools (especially in performing arts) in which the faculty might find that sort of form particularly expressive or something. You never know.

public school / catholic school...really no difference...just a bunch of girls shakeing their asses in short skirts.

I went to an all girls HS but I cheered for our brother school ..obviously all boys. When we had pep rallys it was INSANE. Picture this...25 girls running into a gym with over 5,000 horney HS boys. We heard, "show is your tits" a few thousand times...it was like Turd was there....
