ive been having this discussion with several vegan friends. one says: vegan, because nothing is taken FROM the bees, the bees need to have their honey combs pruned. and they make it, you're not eating bee.
other friend says: exploiting bees! dont eat honey!

im confused.

As one vegan explained it to me, if you are going to say "well, you're not actually eating the bee" and use honey, then you might as well also drink milk.

if that's the case, then one can say "insects which pollenate the plants that people eat are being misused". might as well not eat at all!
prrrrrrretty dumb if you ask me.

Honey's not vegan, because the bees use it to feed their babies, just like calves drink cow's milk.

If someone tells you not to eat honey, it's okay to punch them in the face.

the process of gathering honey and honeycomb kills bees, so it is therefore not vegan (also it's their own food). you can make vegan "honey" though or buy some vegan honey from places like pangea.

some people who say they are vegans consume honey. i don't and most others i know don't either, but a know a few who do. also, not vegan...many lip balms containing beeswax and several brands of candles.

also, btw, although you probably know, honey is bee vomit.

Honey was a shitty movie starring a hot Jessica Alba.

I am glad I don't know any vegans, as I'd be likely to beat the crap out of them.

I go by the philosophy that if it I like to eat it, I eat it. Food is to be enjoyed. No fucking around with bullshit vegans and stuff. You cunts. I could fight you all.

LOL you do crack me up sometimes.

Seriously though - although I have no philosophical problem with vegans, an awful lot of them are so fuckin' smarmy I do dearly want to shove their non-leather doc martens right down their self-righteous throats.

But I do believe that all animals used for meat or produce deserve to be humanely reared.

I couldn't imagine life without honey. Mmmmm. I think I'll go eat a spoonful of it right now.

please, damaja. you know i could kill you swiftly and easily.

personally, i am a honey-eating vegan. i have heard both sides of the argument, and presently i use bee products.

i believe organic is more bee-friendly, and that's what i eat after all. whatever. fuck bees. they sting us. dicks.

Werd.
I'd probably use the same reasoning if I ever became a vegan, since I seem to get stung by one of those bastards at least once a year.

Personally, honey makes me vomit in very large chunks, but I think because no bees are hurt if you take some of their honey, it should be vegen ok. Am I wrong? I think B-rrrrrrrrglie or whatever brought up a good point, what do you vegens think of her point?
