I dont know if its just to me. But it seems that every passed day new "artists" (???) emerge throwing shit lyrics at us listeners like we dont deserve anything better. This artists just made songs talking about being bad, being the man, talking about money and cars and power, etc, etc, bla bla bla.
I miss the days where hip hop was purely poetry with creativity lyrics with good messages and amazing beats. Hip Hop is becoming Hip Pop. I really dont want this. Thats why sometimes the Beasties are discriminated. Cause they arent mainstream. They dont do what mass want. They do what good listeners like them want. And this good music lovers are generally their fans. And please you need to comeback soon: Public Enemy, A Tribe Called Quest, De la Soul, Zac de La Rocha, and a lotta other real hip hop artists (feel free to add someone too)

Die to 50 cents out there, Ludacris, DMX, Ja Rule, D12 (Eminem could stay), and a lot of other guys who think they are MC's (feel free to add someone too, again).

Peace out ya'll!!!!!

Just don't listen to them?

Man, im not concerned about me. I wont start listen to them. Im concerned with rap music which is something bigger than me.

What you said is just useless. But thanks anyway!

PS: Are you a hip hop rookie or you just dont know what hip hop means???

That's just my opinion about these new "artists".

It's kinda useless to complain about them and their shitty music, because they won't change or stop anyway, will they?

I dont think they'll stop. But for sure they'll vanish soon like always happen to this kind of "artists". And im not complaining to try to change something. I know this will never happen. My intention in this MB is manifest my opinion about things in general.

Ludicris is good man. Sure I wanted to smack him for doing the Fast 2 Furious song, but his flows ain't no joke. Everyone else, yea they suck. You probably need to buy a Count Bass D or MF Doom album. That may help you forget how wack things are. Basically what happened to rap is that it was high-jacked by the major labels. They will only allow the kind of rap they think will make them money, and there will always be bitches who will bow down to them in order to temporarily line their pockets and get their asses laid. Thats what happened. The A&Rs stole the creativity from hip hop, and made it their slave.

Exactly. But there is shitloads of great hip-hop out there to listen to regardless. And everything released before the early 90's is guaranteed golden. Other stuff I've started listening to recently: Big L, Getto Boys, Big Daddy Kane, Audio Two, Whodini, Mobb Deep, etc. All great stuff and lots more to go.

And the Beastie Boys ARE mainstream, they're mainstream and good.

Could you give more names of the recently good hip hop? I just know Big Daddy Kane, Audio Two, Whodini (not that recently) that you wrote before.

What about Beasties Mainstream. Could the beastie boys really be mainsream? i mean, not everybody listen to them. They appear a lot on the media when they release something. But, as you said, cause theyre good. Not cause theyre pop.

If you compare rap with pop for sure listen to hip pop is better than britney or faggetstreet boys. But what im worried about is exactly the hip hop becoming pop. Is this good? is this bad? I dont know. Personally I prefered when the hip hop was more underground.

I suppose Mf Doom, Jeru the Damaja, Gangstarr, KRS-One, Masta Ace, all the Wu-Tang group and solo stuff, Jay-Z's last album was good, NWA, Handsome Boy Modelling School, DJ Shadow, DJ Quik, Jungle Brothers. Kanye West.

Most of that stuff is mainstream, but good. Other folks round here would have more hip-hop knowledge than me.

I second this. I'm really not down for any of this music at all, but I admit that Luda has skillz. He can switch it up with the best of them. Also, I'm sure Moe Dee would give him an "A" for sticking to themes. 2fast2furious was 2fuckingstupid but his flows are good and he's got originality and talent and I think he's down to earth.

Dude! I do not know how long you have been listening to hip-hop (or rap, or whatever) but it has always been about the money, the bitches, the cars. Especially back in the day. Fortunatly, there are rappers that don't rely on those lyrics to sell thier records. And there are the ones that do. And they will always be there. It's a style of hip-hop. Some are good at it and most are bad at it.

But at the moment i dont see too many artists making records not talking about money, bitches, cars. I mean, people are using hip hop to make money. They dont give a shit about the culture, about the history of hip hop. I know want the end of this shit is an utopia. But what can I expect from a world that became totally controlled by the capitalism?? Well, i can expect the worse.

Best scene ever:

The sales woman lets George in.

SALES WOMAN: Right this way, Mr. Vandelay.

GEORGE: Well, this is a lovely apartment. Lovely! My kids are gonna go crazy. I, uh, I wonder if I could see the bathrooms. Preferably one with some paint thinner and, uh, some rags?

SALES WOMAN: It's down the hall.

George walks to the bathroom, but stops when he sees Jerry.

JERRY: Oh, hello...

JERRY: Mr. Vandelay, of course.

SALES WOMAN: You two know each other?

SALES WOMAN: Mr. Pennypacker!

KRAMER: Uh, yes, uh, I--I wanted to, uh, stop by and make sure that my shark tank fits-- uh, hello.

SALES WOMAN: Mr. Pennypacker, this is Mr. Vandelay, And you know Mr. Varnsen

Well, if I generalized I'm sorry. But I think you should have read the entire post cause in previews pages I askd for current hip hop names. And my purpose was to see if someone share my opinion. I'll make myself a little bit more clear: what I was trying to say is that nowadays a lotta "artists" are appearing in the "hip hop"(?) scene just to make money. And they are all the same. They make the exactly same kind of music. They dont add nothing special in music. Their songs arent creative. When you hear the beasties you atomatically feel the difference. De la Soul

Didn't they recently release a new record? Haven't heard it though.

Anyway from Stake's Is High...

I'm sick of bitches shakin' asses
I'm sick of talkin' about blunts
Sick of Versace glasses
Sick of slang
Sick of half-ass awards shows
Sick of name brand clothes
Sick of R&B bitches over bullshit tracks
Cocaine and crack Which brings sickness to blacks
Sick of swoll' head rappers
With their sicker-than raps
Clappers and gats
Makin' the whole sick world collapse T
he facts are gettin' sick
Even sicker perhaps
Stickabush to make a bundle to escape this synapse
