Moog: The Movie - Feat: MMM & Money Mark:
I bumped into the movie trailer on accident... And was amazed by this guy and his whole history, and the movie.
In a nutshell, he's the mad scientist behind early organs, synthesizers, keyboard and other various electronic equipment.
He says "I can feel what's going on in a piece of electronic equipment... it's something between discovering and witnessing"
The movie explores Moog's collaborations with musicians over the years, and his ideas about creativity, design, interactivity and spirituality.
What caught my eyes and ears was who was appeared in it:
Money Mark, Mix Master Mike, DJ Spooky, Herb Deutsch, Keith Emerson, Walter Sear, Gershon Kinsgley, Jean-Jacques Perrey & Luke Vibert, Rick Wakeman, Bernie Worrell, Pamelia Kurstin, Tino Corp. with Charlie Clouser, and an eclectic mix of other performers.
You gotta check out the trailer!!! (http://stream.qtv.apple.com/qtv/plexifilm/moogshorttrailer_ref.mov) Insanity (in a good way) at it's finest!!!
And the website (http://www.zu33.com/moog/)

Dick Hyman, who released "Moog: The Electric Eclectics of Dick Hyman", used the same moog organs a lot. The Beastie have given a shout out to Hyman before in "Root Down", and similarly, MMM makes the cameo in that movie about moog. I thought I should just link that up for those who were thinking, "What the hell is MMM doing in there?"

It was only played here at the Adelaide Film Festival, because I remember they had t-shirts on tour promoting it towards the end of the Australian leg.
I'm not sure if it'll be shown anywhere else, but Stomp Australia will be selling it on DVD here shortly I think. Maybe that's the best way to catch it.

I just finished watching this. And it is definitely for the serious hardcore electronica/synthesizer fans.
It's a pretty interesting story about the whole man/machine connection. There are short parts with $Mark and MMM performing. And another short "scene" with $Mark and Moog.
This guy really was a pioneer.
Also, in the link with me and MMM...i remembered MMM had a Moog cap on. :)

I just saw it yesterday but I was really expecting more musical demonstrations and the pieces of music in the movie are quite short, but I find it quite interesting.
