Good question, dude.
Life After Death - Biggie?
or
All Eyez On Me - 2Pac?
or perhaps to get some other parties involved...
Wu-Tang Forever?
or perhaps if you are really silly...

Seriously, that album... it's good and all, but something's missing. Something called Large Professor, DJ Premier, and Pete Rock, if I'm not mistaken. I can't quite put my finger on it.

When Wu-tang dropped forever I could have lived without the second disc. The first was fiyah.
7 years on though, and it has grown on me. I put on Duck Seazon and Heaterz, nice! Dog Shit is a fine testament to what we'll miss about ODB and Triumph(Protect ya Neck MK2) is still hot.
To each their own, but I think Forever takes it....It comes off like a sci-fi mixtape or some such shit.
All Eyez ans Life After Death were too dull in places for me, at least compared to Forever. I could easily listen to both discs of that album together.

The Sounds of Science is the best.

Hah, I second that.
Street's Diciples was alright, but again, like in most cases the excess could have been shaven off. And left only one kickass CD.

He's right.
The Sounds of Science is the best.
Disc of that shit is better than 99% of rap albums ever released:
1. Beastie Boys
2. Slow And Low
3. Shake Your Rump
4. Gratitude
5. Skills To Pay The Bills
6. Root Down
7. Believe Me
8. Sure Shot
9. Body Movin'
10. Boomin' Granny
11. Fight For Your Right To Party
12. Country Mike's Theme (Previously Unreleased)
13. Pass The Mic
14. Something's Got To Give
15. Bodhisattva Vow
16. Sabrosa
17. Song For The Man
18. Soba Violence
19. Alive (Newly Recorded)
20. Jimmy James
21. Three Mc's and one DJ
And disc 2 isn't bad either.

Probably because it's a compilation CD, not a full fledged album I suppose.
WHOSE COUNTRY MIKE!!? I'm country mike!

After buying Street's Disciple, I don't think I'll buy another rap double album, unless it's from one of my favourite artists. Otherwise, I won't even bother. Street's Disciple is a perfect example of why rap double albums shouldn't even exist; shave off 10 tracks (give or take), stick it all on one disc and you have an excellent rap album.
Although I hear Nas is releasing Street's Disciple II - a fourteen track single disc re-release. The Blueprint 2.1, anyone?

The sounds of science is not an album!
Don't mention it again... please! Its basically a Greatest Hits collection.
but I'd go with Wutang Forever. It doesn't win by far though - Life After Death was good to.

speakerboxx was good, but i could have done without the love below.
someone had to say street's disciple. that shit was weak. seriously. nas could have made a decent cd with like 12 songs on it, all of them with beats that are actually listenable.

All Eyez On Me helped to start ( wasnt the first but started) the whole double Lp after it was so succesful(is almost diamond now), excpet for maybe 3-5 tracks on a 27 track set, All Eyez on Me was the defintive (not the best keep that in mind) west coast cd, the peak of west coast hip-hop with both bay area and so cal west coast mixing. Plus lyrically it is underrated with songs like "Shorty Wanna Be a Thug", "Wonder Why they call you bitch" and "I aint Mad at Cha" just to name a few. I think its one of, if not, the most complete. Thats my opinion but always remeber that ALL eyez on me came out way before life after death( a year later of aeom, after Pacs death) which was a double lp and Pac always said that he thought Biggie was biting his style.
or you could go the greatest hits route and find some worthy mentions, once again 2pac would be up there.
of course this is not bias but.....
JUST MY OPINION.

Anyone else find that extremely difficult to read?
EDIT: Enough with The Sounds of Science, already. We all know it's a great two-disc compilation, therefore it does not qualify as a double album. :)
Although the CYH double LP kinda works on a technicality.

some good posts in here. (y)
personally, I have no fuckin' idea which one I'd go with. As I said earlier, I really don't like the whole double-album concept. All Eyez On Me had a weak second disc to me, and I'm not that fond of Life After Death either. If I had to choose right now, I'd go with Wu-Tang Forever. The classics were there (Triumph and Heaterz to name a couple...)

if anyone dosen't think 2Pac-All Eyes On Me isn't by far the best double album hiop hop history then your an idiot.
Biggie???
that record was joke--- singing with R Kelly and112 and shit and MASE (!)
man if Biggie was still alive his career would of went down the tubes with Fluff Daddy at the helm ..you cold see it coming with Mo Money Mo Problems
Biggie did bite all of Pac's shit
not to mention Biggie was a such a phony image to what he was like in reallife
man I'm sorry but Mr. B.I.G. had alot of space for maybe a response record or even maybe a lyric, a word on his double cd to 2Pacs FUCK BAD BOY (thats what I call it)
thats horribe...
come to think of it he diised everyone on Makeveli (Jay -Z most noteably)
then you see JiggaMan doing a remkake to Pac's Me and My Girlfriend record..
man Pac's talking about his girlfriend being a gun, and Jigga is talking about Beyonce LOL
what a bunch of fuckin' chumps.
they all wanted to be like him in reality.
anyways-2Pac All Eyes On Me
hands down
:D
ps..Im sure this post put a smile on your face GMile 7

I hear what g-mile's saying, All Eyez was a very crucial album in the whole double disc thing.
Forever is still my vote, but All Eyez would probably make a more sensible choice. I just felt the Wu were on some more epoch-making shit at the time, like a real movement...
edit:I give Life after Death a lot of attention, it's got some genius moments in there, it's definitely a grower. Especially disc two (I'm noticing a recurring theme on this disc 2 thing)

better days lyrically was aight but the remixing (taking off people, putting people on like a trick daddy, changing the beats and pacs flow) are deadly to this lp. Who Do U Believe in is a keepr though (also one of the few songs that appear in the og form pac recorded it) as a Pac fan I have alot of the songs off Until the Enod of Time and Better Days in there Og form and trust me its defiantley better. Thus any double lp after pacs death or single (like loyal to the game) is not worth buying if you can find the og's online

Yeah, I'm gonna try to find some of those, I found this site a long time ago, but I forgot what it was. But I just really hate when they remixed his songs and put him with people he hated, like Wyclef Jean.
