Dunno, I've prepared both pizza and sushi on my own.

Not at the same time though.

For some reason, sandwiches always taste better when prepared by someone else.....

Oh, I don't know, they can both be quite fun.

My sister in law gave us a pizza atone for christmas one year, so that's when we started getting into making pizzas. We would buy the dough for the crust from the local pizza place but then make the sauce and all ourselves. One time we had my nephew staying with us when he was just like 4 or 5, he thought this whole concept of making pizza in your own house! was just the most incredible thing and even now that he's 12 he's like "Remember that time we made pizza?"

Making sushi is in a way almost more like creating an artwork. I quite enjoy going to the fishmonger and getting the good fish (I've found a place in North London that supplies many of the top Japanese restaurants in town to buy from), preparing the rice mixture, prepping all the bits to make nori rolls. It's definitely not the sort of thing I prepare daily or anything, but I've done it a few times for dinner parties. It's actually not difficult, it just looks dead impressive and people think you've slaved away at it all day.

I could swear I posted a thing about making nori rolls somewhere in here once; I'll have to go see if I can find that.
Edited to add, it's in here somewhere. (http://www.beastieboys.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=36388&highlight=nori)

Never prepare sushi pizza by yourself. It'll only end in disaster.

Nice! Yeah the making pizza dough as simple as it may be is way too close to baking for my culinary constitution...and cooking with/for kids can be a howl...also you can stick to a more traditional formula,a little marinara, big slices of mozzarella a little romano some green olives(unavailable at every take out joint in my locale!) authentico as opposed to mass marketed, you know...sushi is something I do appreciate as much for appearance as for taste..I had a mate who had it down pat and we used to bribe him with fine brews to come over hours before a get together and wrap rolls,he even had the tough ones like dynamite, unagi and B.C rolls down....his big thing was a rice maker to do the rice with....good times!
