But I love nost fruits really. Lately I've been eating a lot of those physalis things from Columbi, they are well tasty.
I've got two mangoes at home that are going quite soft, I think I will make a mango chutney with them this weekend.

Most memorable line Ive ever read in an Archie comic was said by Big Moose
"Duhh!! Candy muh favorite fruit!"
its kind of an inside joke between my brother and I, and is said each time we are together and candy is being eaten or discussed

What's a dragonfruit?
I think my faves are
pears (especially brown ones)
bananas (only organicly grown, the other ones taste yucky and they have to be ripe, no green ones here!)
papaya (especially in juice)
kiwi
pineapple
and apples
btw raspberries ain't fruit

its originally from mexico and south america and grows on a cactus like plant
but after export to tropical regions it is now being grown in such areas too especially vietnam
Ive always thought of it as an asian fruit because I mostly see them at asian fruit stalls but they are also available at some grocery stores here too

I've never seen that before!
Looks almost artificial! What does it taste like? Like cactus or kiwi or totally something else?
I was looking for my favourite juice, guava, so I found out it's also called pitahaya, Hylocereus undatas. Now I really have something to look for on my travels...

Wow, I'm glad i checked out this forum/thread....I'm going through a big mango phase at the moment. Love 'em. They're perfect for breakfast too.
Also, I see cranberries have been given no love yet. I know they are berries, but that doesn't mean they should be discrimminated against. They're tasty.
So thats 1 vote for mangoes and 1 for cranberries.

Cherries are yum. And you get to see how far you can spit to pits! So it' like a snack and a competetive sport all rolled into one.
And, it's nearly the time of year for them too, isn't it! Mmmmmm.

HAHA LOL, that was good.
K, only one other person has mentioned them: STRAWBERRIES!!!!!!!!!!
And, for cerveza, cold or room temp will do, but the absolute best is picking them off the vine after they've been in the sun!
Honorable mentions:
watermelon (or honeydew, cantaloupe or melon)
kiwi
lichees (i think that's how they're spelled) - haven't had them in awhile but went on a kick where I had to have them everyday.
bananas are also good. I like the flavor though mainly, not the actual fruit, though I do eat them sometimes.

A good ugli fruit is tasty and a nice conversation piece.
But I have to say that my favorite is the plain old banana if not just for the convenience factor (available all year).
Second favorite: long, green grapes (really only good in December/January).
Third: those whitish cherries (available July/August), but they're too expensive for me, so that's why they're lower on my list than grapes.

This morning I cut a bunch of pieces of strawberries and put them in the yogurt. It was lovely! Much better than the ones that come in the yourt itself.
So, strawberry too!!! Yummy! Not to mention their low calories!

MANGO!!!!!
my dad does a lot of work up north (northern western australia) where its fairly tropical and the streets are covered in mango trees and you can pick mangoes up from the ground instead of paying $3 in the supermarket and he just brought back a whole box.
mmmmmango.
my favourites (besides mango)
peaches
nectarines
passionfruit
strawberries
rockmelon (i think its also known as cantaloupe?)
lychees
slightly less favourite but still up there
pink lady apples
watermelon
seedless grapes
i really only enjoy bananas in dessert - like with custard or icecream
edit: those mini oranges over here we call them cumquats
