Start with "It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back". That's excellent, amazing sounds and songs on it. Enjoy.

no, start off with apocolypse 91 the enemy strikes black. This is a great album to buy first. It's a little underrated but it's the album that really launched PE into a whole new level. But, for sure I'd start with the first four albums and then go from there.

are you joking?...."it takes a nation" was by far their most successful album, but it is very dated in my opinion.
I don't like the "Apocolypse 91" album,.....too angry for my taste. As a white man, It just feels weird listening to it. There's not many albums I can say that about.

It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back.
Definitely the best starting point in my opinion. You wanted an opinion and you got one. Other than that, do whatever you wanna do, man.

It only makes sense to start from the begining with Bumrush the Show.Seen them in concert with the Beasties back in the day.I didnt really know of them up untill that point and was blown away when they opened for the Boys.

Yea, start with the first one. Its always good to follow things chronologically, it makes more sesne that way. It all started with, "I'm Public Enemy Number 1! 1! 1! 1!" Its a wall to wall banger.

Yo! Bumrush The Show - If you want to do things right and start from the beginning
Nation Of Millions - If you want their best collection of songs on one album
Fear Of a Black - If You want their most focused and cohesive album
Apocalypse '91 - If you want to start with their last great album and go backwards
Muse Sick-N-Hour Mess Age - If you don't want to like Public Enemy

Hmm... I'll have to get that "Apocalypse '91" album. I already got "It Takes A Nation...", "Black Planet" and "Yo! Bumrush The Show"
The remainder of their discography... Worth getting? Or ignore?

No joke, even though they already had a solid fan base, the collabo with Anthrax broadened their audience .

The remainder of their discography... Worth getting? Or ignore? I’d say get Muse-Sick-N-Hour Mess-Age. It’s done with live instruments, like what the roots do. I have all of their albums (solo and together). The first 4 definitely shine the most but they all have their moments. Don’t sleep on “There’s a Poison Going On” or “Greatest Misses” they’re both great albums.

As a huge fan of It Takes a Nation... I must say, Fear of a Black Planet wasn't that good in comparison.
They aren't even close.
