If you look hard enough, you just might find it.
It's pretty good. Not very deep, but it's got a very Led Zeppelin-esque guitar riff and kind of a Prince vibe around it. It's no Seven Nation Army, but it's pretty decent.

It sounds a bit like Bobby Conn, a bit like The Scissor Sisters and a bit like T-Rex...

....supposedly they're doing "appearances" rather than concerts "until the technology catches up" so they can perform the songs live.
.....wha?

Well, I dig the music.
Funny enough -- Jack White's mug shot is probably the best picture I've ever seen of him.

I recently read that Jack's key focus with regards to music is complete devotion to producing more Loretta Lynn...and in the same blurb it also stated a White stripes record is on the way that will have the same impact on the music scene that nirvana's "nevermind' did.....that's what it said but say what?

Hell yes octave pedals rock. Its an aight song, I've heard Death From Above 1979, Beck, and Electric 6 comparisons thrown around in reference to this song.

Not so sure about Electric Six, but I was definitely reminded of Death From Above 1979.
Let's hope the rest of the album is just as strong as this track. (y)

Sorry, i meant the rock forte of the music industry.
ANd think about it, now everyone thinks the saviours of rock are back, and with a track that sounds like a demo that, wouldnt even make it onto a led zeppelin rarities album.

i don't think anyone in this thread called them the saviors of rock. we just like them. all their shit sounds like a "demo" cuz they don't use computers at all-which i find to be cool. today, it seems audio quality just means PRO TOOLS.

Yeah, i love analogue recordings. John Frusciante released 6 albums last year on analogue and recorded in the same amount of time it takes to do a white stripes album, and those records are amazing and personaly i find them much more interesting and better than a white stripes album, which gets released every 3 years (although they do tour). So it kinda frustrates me, all White Stripes hype, although each to thier own, so i will leave this thread now and enjoy!!

Elephant took 2 weeks to record in the 2003. Last year he produced Loretta Lynn the previous years go something exactly along these lines,
Albums,
2002 Maximum
2001 White Blood Cells
2000 De Stijl
1999 The White Stripes
Not including voluminous Videos, Singles and Tours...brief affairs of the heart and Hollywood Movie Cameos. (The 4 night Conan O'Brien stand he did just to get a chance to work at the NBC studio Giftshop.)
analogue is but one aspect of the White Stripes, I'm not an over the top fan, but the whole package, as far as a rock & roll bands go in the year of our Lord 2005 is weak....the White Stripes rise way above most of the competition. I think they'll eat Weezers Lunch.....and I kinda like the Weezers. Just MHO.

I like it, but its not even vaguely similar musically to their other stuff, I mean Jack White's voice on this track is just odd...in a good way :)

...I dunno. I think the arrangement is pretty thin. It might make sense in the context of the album, but hanging it out as a single doesn't quite work.
But it's growing on me.

I felt the same way as you did about 3 weeks ago when Blue Orchid first started leaking out, then a few nights ago it was sandwhiched between a few songs on the radio, it sounds really strong.

It's an interview/tidbit bootleg that sucks, but hey, I thought I'd throw it in for dramatic poetic license effect,,,you know beef up the poor guy. I suck.
It's weird, the whole White Stripes thing, the people who usually don't like `em or front on the Stripes like some of the dorkiest music out there, yet Jack and meg don't care anything about what you or I think, they have a vision completly different. I respect that and the fact that they look backwards for the sound. It isn't original, been done many times, but Jack really can stir up the ghosts pretty damn good and he is one lean ass guitar player. This is why Jimmy Page and Eric Clapton made sure to be there when the Stripes played London....he's "Got It" as they say.

sounds like some kind of reject AC/DC cock rock anthem with the lead singer of a prince cover band shrieking over it.
I like the white stripes but this shit is terrible.

Oh, yeah. I don't hear every little thing that comes out, but I haven't thought we've had a new guitar player this good since... maybe Dave Navarro.

Pfffft. Nevermind.
For a sec I thought that could have been some kind of comp of some White Stripes rarities or something like that. I guess I was expecting too much. (n)

theres a "B-Sides" unoffical release thats been floating around on peer to peer sites for years. The stuff on it is better than some of their released stuff.
