Relations between China and Japan have hit the lowest point in decades as the two sides feud over access to oil and gas reserves in the East China Sea, Japan's steps to strengthen its strategic alliance with the United States, and history textbooks that China says gloss over atrocities Japan committed when it occupied China in World War II.China's leaders ignited a frenzy of anti-Japanese activism after they made the rare decision to permit an online petition drive, a nationwide boycott movement, and then street demonstrations to protest what China considers a string of Japanese provocations.

Oil is the addictive drug that re-kindles resentments, hatred when the supply is being threatened. Our low wage worker base is getting testy.

It's gonna get bloody... that's the sad truth. Do you realize the world reached it's peak for oil production about two years ago? Our society is completely dependent on oil and natural gas. Think of living in a world with no electricity, no transportation, no air conditioning, no heat in the winter, and no food. I don't know if anyone realizes, or even cares, how serious this situation is. Unless our government finds an alternate source of energy, you will be here... starving... in the dark, or fighting in a long, stupid war.

Watched prime Time TV last night, the ABC line-up, from 8:00 PM till about Midnight. Every commercial break featured SUV's, usually more than just one manufacturer's, GMC, Ford, Chrysler, even Toyota and Nissan were pushing their big SUV's and New Full Size PU Trucks. But mainly the big 3, the Rebates and gas vouchers are the incentive they're using.
All of a sudden the American people are starting to understand reality. Just because the administration is representative of a major Oil Corporation Board doesn't mean we have to live like morons. The auto companies have only themselves to blame, what a farce. The fellow who's driving the brand new giant SUV that get's 7 MPG must of really thought that purchase through. He kind of looks like a horses ass at the gas pump while we war away and energy bills skyrocket to the highest levels ever.
I wouldn't say it's quite a "House of Cards" yet out there, but it only takes a few dumbshit World leaders to turn it into one....and from the look of things, we have them in place.

This is why I watch nothing but HBO, rented movies, and the occasional Sporting event (which I mute the ads). And I am sure I am not alone in this behaviour. You forgot to mention the various drug ads, unless perhaps they stopped showing these during primetime?
The whole world feeds off the "teat" of the American people, and it will continue as long as we allow it and buy these ridiculous products.
There is hope though. I believe GM lost a billion dollars last quarter, mostly due to declining SUV sales. They also had declined to be part of the Hybrid deal.

Ambien and the new Lunesta sleeping pills were the order of the evening ads. Checkout the big brains on our highly educated CEO's and the fucking total disregard for anything but self profit.
I'm really not one to watch alot of TV, but I do admit to being an advertising junky. Mcdonalds is also playing an ad to a pseudo Ramones style muzak with hip 20 year olds playing "City Golf" on there way to a 24 hour Mcdonalds in the middle of the night. It was so bad it was entertaining.....which may be their target. I use there bathrooms when I'm on the road, Mcdonalds is a great place to poop on.
