'OK Computer' has become the equivalent of 'Imagine'; people choose it because they think they should. Utterly mindless... (n)

The fact that Radiohead, U2 and Nirvana are all in the top 3 just goes to show how people like what they are told to like.
All 3 bands are perfect examples of overrated drivel that the music press bums/bummed to death.

I disagree, I think OK Computer is a great album. I don't think its the best of all time or anything, but its up there.
Lists like this are always shit, nobody will ever agree on a list of top all time albums.
What then do you suggest as alternatives people? Whats your No.1?
Mine is Blaze of Glory by John Bon Jovi.
"Shot doooown.......in a blaze of glory.... Brilliant. Ok, I'm joking.

im surprised the beasties werent there because the other 4 darlings of mainstream white media (public enemy, de la soul, eminem and outkast) were, AKA the hip-hop its ok for rock fans to like.
shit.
Yeah, I think they have fallen off that darlings list because it's still not as current to like the Beasties as it is Eminem ect, and doesn't quite fit in with NME/channel4's/theGuardian's...ect agenda, even though without Paul's B I don't think they'd even get albums in that list like Odelay, And you would of thought without the Boys you wouldn't of got the fat jucie twat that is eminem, if only. Not that I care or anything.

A COLDPLAY Album beat out any album put out by JIMI HENDRIX, LED ZEPPELIN,THE SMITHS, THE DOORS, SEX PISTOLS, DAVID BOWIE, THE ROLLING STONES, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, THE WHITE STRIPES, BLACK SABBATH, THE CLASH, THE WHO, BOB DYLAN, PRINCE, ELTON JOHN, ELVIS PRESLEY, JAMES BROWN........hahahahaahhahahahahahaha :D Damn, that is some very bizarre twisted stuff.
I'll have to buy that album, it must be one hell of a whopper!

I don't know what's sadder... The 572392nd "Best Albums" list to have dubious rankings and overlooked albums or that so many people actually take the list with the utmost seriousness if they're unhappy that their favorite record didn't place higher (read: EVERYONE).

Thats not right, you can't lump all brits into the category of soccer hooligans just as I can't lump all German's together as Nazis, or all Americans as yahoo texan hicks, or Australians as redneck crocadile dundees and so forth. In fact that stereotype shouldn't even be applied to all Liverpool fans, let alone all British people in general. And to apply it to musical taste, well lets just say you have no respect for the people that died in that tragedy (n)

I hate Radiohead so fucking bad, and I fucking hate you if you like them.
If i have to put up with Thom Yorke's godawful warbling for any longer, I'll set the ghosts of Bon Scott and John Bonham onto him.

It's just the nature of these things that the most average thing will always win as most people will vote for it. The more original or challenging the work then the greater chance there is that it will be marginalised.
The reason I think that it's becoming the new Imagine (or Bohemian Rhapsody) is that people are told it's great and just repeat it mindlessly. I'm in no doubt that it's a good album, but the best of all time?! The Bends is much better...
I'd also love to know who they ask for these charts! It's never me :(
you know, starting a thread like this is pointless because no one is ever satisfied with polls by music fans or writers/critics, and therefore it just gives loudmouth teenagers an excuse to pontificate about what they consider to be good or bad music

the programme itself was pretty entertaining.... i was glad to see madonna in the top ten.
and yeah, the list just reflects the opinion of the people who bothered to answer a particular poll -- it doesn't mean anything much.

i agree on your first 4 oppions 5th i have to disagree.
i think mos def is good but i dont think any album he has produced should crack a top 100 alltime list.
plenty of rappers should be ahead of him. let alone all the other real bands out there, not to mention i barley saw any jazz artists, jam bands, or regaee on there.

Luckily, the people here have a sense of humor...
If you feel offended, then I'm sorry. I'm sure that the English Beastie Boys fan is much better than the random Brit. Take a look at the country where I'm living in, Germany, 95%: either proletarian or an aggressive immigrant.
Again: I'm very sorry, it wasn't meant personal.
Ha! Maybe. I am in much disagreement with this list also. But I would not use example of old soccer hooligans as guide for the rest of the population. Although they have a bad view on music! Ha!
What's that "Ha!" all about???!

By agreeing with four of my opinions, you got a bright future ahead of you. Keep it up.
No offense on the mos def opinion, but you're an idiot. ;)
In case anyone wondered, it should've been 'Raising Hell', 'Aquemini', 'Stakes Is High' 'It Takes a Million', and 'Black on Both Sides' in my old post.
