Hip hop is hardly an uniquely american form of music. There are plenty of countries where hip-hop is produced, UK is an example, France is another, plenty more.

you are referring to DJ Kool Herc....who was the first to bring "2 turntables and a mixer and an MC" to the US, in the early 1970's....this spawned the early roots of the hip hop culture and got it moving...later with the US addition of break juggling, rapping, battling, beat production, graffiti, breaking, general rap performance, ect... those were exclusively American inventions.
