I like it how I'm able to buy a Marlin Model 9 Camp Carbine (in good used condition, $320 after tax and that cocksucker Brady's 25 dollars), but I can't buy ammo for it because it's chambered in 9mm Luger and I'm not 21 years old.

If I bought a Springfield Armory M1A, I could buy .308 bullets for it and kill a whole bunch of people a lot better than with my Camp 9.

i'm sure i'm not the only one who's not familiar with these guns, so here's some info on them (thanks, google)

the marlin one http://www.iguanasoft.com/~jeffersonian/marlin9.html

the M1A http://www.springfield-armory.com/prod-rifles-m1a-stan.shtml

looks like they'd both be pretty hard to hide in your pants

I think part of the problem here is that gun legislation is designed by people who know very little about guns (at the behest of people who know even less, save that they're generally very dangerous). kind of like how drug legislation is designed by people who have a fundamental misunderstanding about drugs

are you talking about banning or legislation?

i have no issue with legislation or restrictions. i encourage them.
there is no reason to own an assault rifle unless you're in the military.
