I know he's a right twat, but I can't fail to be amused by the tirade he launches against all new bands every time a new Oasis album is due... Some choice selections from this week's NME (http://www.nme.com/news/112189.htm) cover interview;

Speaking about Franz Ferdinand singer Alex Kapranos, Gallagher said: “He reminds me of fucking Right Said Fred. You put on 'I’m To Sexy For My Fucking Thing' next to their records and I bet you any money it’s the same person. It’s the same fucking person! He’s just gone on the Atkins diet and grown his hair! Not my thing at all. I don’t like quirky, weird music. It’s not my cup of tea all that nonsense, million miles an hour music that’s not going anywhere.”

Turning on Doherty, he added: “I’m not into smackheads. Smackheads need slaps… So what does the word Libertine mean? What does it mean? Freedom? He’s fucking in the corner doing smack with a helmet on his head! There’s nothing free about that. It’s nasty, innit? If the kids like them, fair enough, but they’re nowhere near like us. The music’s rubbish for start”.

Scissor Sisters - who claimed that Oasis lacked respect for the Glastonbury crowd following their muted performance at last year’s event – were also slammed by Liam who retorted saying: “If that’s what they call entertaining then let them ‘av it - bright colours and fucking weirdos on stilts? I’m more entertaining than that cunt. And I’ll rip his fucking vocal chords out anyday because he’s fucking rubbish.”

Even newcomers Kaiser Chiefs and Bloc Party weren’t safe from Gallagher’s acid tongue, with the singer describing the former as “a bad Blur” and the latter as “a band off University Challenge, like they’re sitting on a panel or something”.

However, in the band’s revealing interview, Gallagher did reserve praise for an unlikely star.

"It's Charlotte Church for me, man,” he stated. “She could be the next Liam. She's got a great voice and she fucking has it. She knows how to get fucking hammered and she freaks people out."

I'd pick him up by his two (false) front teeth and throw him into a bottomless pit of angry Blur fans.

DISCLAIMER: I like Blur.

the man's sung his bollocks off for over 10 years, great voice, and the music world (at least in Britain) would be an entirely different and less entertaining place without liam, and noel for that matter.

i also found it quite cool that their show at the msg sold out real fast.

Ha! That's well funny (y)

Noel was on Radio 1 earlier tonight with Zane Lowe and he was, as you say, being rather amusing. You can listen here; BBC Radio 1 (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/alt/zanelowe/interviews/noel_gallagher/1.shtml)

I'm with mickill, I only like Bloc Party out of those bands. Even though Lyla is getting massive play on the commercial radio stations, which usually makes me hate a song, I still find myself enjoying it. And the video clip is pretty cool (y)

The new Oasis video is almost identical to that of McFly's first one...

He's still bigging up BRMC! He was so totally blown away by their first album. I really hope their new one comes up to that standard, they've been so into this acoustic stuff it's scaring me.

Obviously he wasn't dissing Blur. He was calling them a bad Blur which means that he thinks that Blur is good.

If it was possible, I'm sure Damon Albarn and Noel Gallagher would have a swordfight.
