LOVE Ritchie Valens.

Man, that guy showed so much potential and he was only 17. Such a shame that he and Buddy Holly died in that plane crash. :(

If you aren't familiar with him, you are grandly missing out.

Now, be honest. Do you love Ritchie Valens strictly due to La Bamba...or did you really love his music for what it was and not just Lou Diamond Phillips?

Well yeah, I watched the movie. That's how I was introduced. But I did go and grab a compilation of every existing track he recorded soon afterwards.

Besides, he's got more than "La Bamba."

There's "Donna," "Come On Let's Go," "Ooh My Head" and others.

hey me 2!!
I even owned the motion picture soundtrack on LP.
I always used to cry in the end too even though I knew what was going to happen after the first time round.

That movie is the shit. We had to watch it for my Spanish class in high-school and I was one of the only suckers that already knew the songs he was singing.

Listening to oldies radio gives you street cred, folks.
