LOVE Raveonettes.
The way they mix Spector-style "wall of sound," '50s and '60s rock, feedback and raw sexual energy is just awesome.
With that, I can't wait for their new album (which comes out Tuesday) to drop. It's gonna be amazing, I'm sure!
NIN, Ryan Adams, Raveonettes... this will be a good week! (y)

Your point is....?
These guys are responsible for lyrics like:
"Chewin' on a whip your little dress is tight
Gonna make me burn gonna make it right
Tell your little stories and I'll never hope
That I'll end up right beside you when it comes
Why don't you start right now now I know you
Won't regret"
Who cares if they did a commercial?
Who cares if they did a commercial?
Word.
Look at Tribe. They did a Sprite commercial and they still........well....nevermind.

Well, the whole "sell-out" argument associated with doing commercials is pretty moot now.
Not only is everyone and their dog doing commercials, but it's also presenting itself as a legitimate way of exposing your music to a new audience (just look at Moby).
Unless it's a commercial for Wal-Mart, I couldn't be brought to care.

Luckily we don't get to see that commercial here (don't even know what Target is). I really like Raveonettes as well. What I heard on MySpace on the new stuff it sounds great!
And I've just borrowed Great Love Sound from the library :D

I bought their first album.
After track 2
I knew I'd be bored
So I sold it.

The first album isn't all that good. Too abrasive.
Get "Chain Gang of Love." Waaaaaaaaaay better. They fine-tune their distortion to some '50s/'60s pop perfection. And I'm assuming the same for this new one.

Oh, I was talking about that one. I didn't know they made one before that.
Sorry, but it bored the living crap out of me.

I'm liking "Pretty In Black." (y)
There's a cute cover version of "My Boyfriend's Back" on there. :)
Target commercials be damned. :p
