Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Other..
They're the only ones I've had personally. I like the Japanese one the best, but Chinese is ok if sweetened with a bit of honey. The Vietnamese one, to make a fair assessment, I need to try again cause this vietnamese guy bought some over to my place and made me one (left the packet) and it was extemely strong..so perhaps if I tried watering it down a bit my opinion wouldn't be as tainted.
Who drinks it, what do you think?

I always keep Numi tea or green tea in the office but I ran out yesterday. So I went out and bought some green tea with lemon and it tastes like hot pledge. :(

I like it alot,Japanese variety specifically, good for ya health....but I never put anything in it....it's flavor is the flavor, you know? Like with cammomile or peppermint teas....I think I really only drink the tea for health benefits....have you had chinese black tea? The stuff is harsh! Kicks like a cappucino! And is there a Brit in the house who can explain the madness over Earl Grey or "proper cuppa"..I don't get it....maybe it's all in the steep or if you put the cream in first or second...can't remember ;)

I've been drinking the processed green tea like a maniac. Fuze and Arizona brands. Hella cheap. Black and white tea is great too.

I'll second that. If you like green tea ice cream, you should try red bean ice cream.

red bean anything is bitchin'. especially the soup. mmm. soup for dessert.

personally i dig chinese jasmine green tea. it's the stuff they serve in the real chinese restaurants around here (the ones you never see white people in). it's so smooth and the fragrance is heavenly. if i'm having it with dinner i may add a little honey but i usually i have it straight up. steger, on the other hand, pours about half a cup of sugar into his.

Salada Green Tea with Red Antioxidants (strawberry and orange flavored) is the only green tea I can drink without gagging

well, i certainly don't know who you've been speaking to but cream is most definately not the norm! how luxurious!
i'm guessing a "proper cuppa" is a normal, bog-standard cup of tea. which is not early grey. in all my british years i don't think i've ever had any earl gray. just a normal teabag: tetleys, nambarrie, whatever.
i can't remember what the division is ["common" people and "posh" people apparently put the water/milk in in a different order] but i put the water in, let it brew for a bit [also, i don't know many people with tea pots although that would be an advantage!] then add the milk. simple. serve with a kit kat.

on the green tea front, i don't much care for the stuff. herbal teas, either. i don't like hot drinks that you can't add milk to, ugh!
chai, on the other hand. now there's an ethnic drink. mmmmm.

mmm chai tea.

i learned so much about green tea yesterday. a rep from our biggest herbal company was telling me about going to the green tea festival in new york's chinatown and how we could all go sometime :) but i'll probably be gone before it comes around :( anyway, the way the chinese culture treats green tea is amazing. and i knew that white, green, and black tea all came from the same plant, but i didn't know the real differences:
white tea is when the tea plant is cut when it's very young. it has to be less than seven years old. when it's seven years old...
it's green tea. it has to be cut and then boiled (which causes it to lose some of the caffeine of white tea) within 24 hours or else it oxidizes and becomes...
black tea. which is actually LESS caffeinated than green tea. green tea's caffeine is more of a mental stimulant than a full-body nerve job, which is probably why i can handle it easier than coffee. but black tea can also come from a different plant that isn't oxidized, which most other cultures do, such as the tea in earl grey. it's the chinese that use it that way.
he told me a lot more, too. interesting stuff.

Or a Twix would also work in this situation :)
And I agree with Claire.....brew tea, then milk.
