Knuckles, where you at? Have you listened to "Cold Roses" yet? Or has the sheer awesomeness of the album rendered you unable to use a keyboard? :D
So far, this "Cold Roses" album is top-notch. He's moved back to his alt-country sound and it's excellent. These last few years have revealed the genius of him.
With "Rock N Roll," he proved that he can make some kick-ass alternative rock to compete with the likes of The Strokes and The White Stripes and so forth.
And "Love Is Hell" (released at the same time) proved he could make a heartbreaking druggy suicide record.
The guy can do anything and now he's hailing back to his Whiskeytown origins and I'm loving it!
Knuckles, I can't wait to hear what you think! :)

I'm on my second listen right now. I went to where my friend is buried and shared my first listen with him. Damon would of loved it. :( :) I am really happy with the new band. :D They seem to have inspired him to go back to the sound I first fell in love with. It is amazing (!)

Any stand-out tracks for you, Knucks? :)
I'm a big fan of "Magnolia Mountain," "Beautiful Sorta" and "How You Keep Love Alive" so far off the first disc.

Been giving this a spin today. Not bad, I still like the band "Drag the River" a tad more than Ryan. Also them "Drive by Truckers." Ryan is an extremely gifted writer, I just like a bit more edge and urgency ala Johnny Cash to Country.
If you haven't heard "Drag the River" and you like Country Alt. check them out. I lost my shit when I first heard them 3 years back. About a year later I found out the band was made up of ex punkers from "All" & "The Descendents. Open, Big, Raw and Heartbreaking about sums up every "Drag the River" song.
Back to Ryan Adams, the 1st two songs, Magnolia Mountain & Sweet Illusions. (y) Stellar writing and production.
