scalloped potatoes...

Hello,

This is a dish I really love but have never made for myself. I googled a couple of recipes but they don't sound right,too simple? I don't know or maybe I've had a different version or something...anyone got a good recipe and/or method for savoury scalloped potatoes and a suggestion of what to serve them with...I could eat them as a meal onto themself..... ;)

i think all scalloped potatoes are is milk, butter, salt, pepper and potatoes, i dunno, maybe some flour? yeah, they are simple though, but like anything you can make it as complicated as you want. add cheese, peas, whatever.

they are good to have with ham or something like that.

yeah,when you add cheese they become "Au Gratin" how european....the method is what I think I'm really after,do you blanch the taters 1st,etc,etc....from a recipe it seems unclear as to how it's done...maybe just me,thanks!

It's "scalloped" from the latin scallopo which means to cut thin and simer in a long slow cook......which makes me think of veal scallopini....so cruel,so tender,so tasty...
