I knew about this song for a long time, but never bothered to seek it out and listen to it.

I ran across Milk's cd and decided to pick it up a couple of years ago. Damn, this was a hidden treasure.

It was Milk's first solo (and only I think) solo project. It was a EP called 'Never Dated' on Rick Rubin's lable Def American. It came out in the 90's. I have the cassette sing for Spam somewhere. It had a remix on it, but it's no where as good the original.

PS. Mike D is on the trap kit with the drums on that song.

I really like that song!

I remember that I had that LP in my house at one time, but it has dissappeared. Can't remember if it was mine or my "kid-brother's", he was a huge Beastie fan as well.

But Adam says this in the song

"Well its the Intergalactic conection with the rhythm section"

What im trying to say is that they start with this intergalactic thing around Ill Communication.

No shit. I was quite sure the song was way old, from the LTI era or even before that. It doesn't sound 94.

they give different release dates, but mostly it's 1994
probably because it was released in U.S. in 1994 and in Europe 1995

spam is on Milk's record Never Dated(1994)

On the back of the cd it has various dates listed next to each track. I lists March 27th, 1994 for SPAM.

I'm fairly certain that Horovitz said in an interview that he didn't like the song either.

Really? About the milk part or the whole song?

Junker

I'm not a fan of this song because I don't like Milk's voice. His delivery is horrendous.

I'm fairly certain that Horovitz said in an interview that he didn't like the song either.

Are you sure???

I couldn't find the full article online, but Beastiemania (http://www.beastiemania.com/whois/milk/) has a summary of the one I remembered reading:

Back in 1998, during an Ego Trip magazine (Volume 4, Number 1) interview, Horovitz told the story behind his involvement and feelings about the song "Spam" he did with MC Milk.

"I'm not sure if I like that record. I haven't heard it since we did it to be honest with you. I'd never met Milk before. Of course, when that first Audio Two record was out it was huge so when I heard he wanted to do a record with me I was like, 'definitely!"

hmmmm.....kinda interesting....But in the song AdRock kicks ass.......
at least I like a lot this song... :D
