Well, I've heard about this band which was the band that Adam Yauch and Mike D and two others (which I can't recall...) were in before the beastie boys. And I was just curious to know a little about what kind of music was on that one album. I was on amazon and there was nothing much about it...no reviews, so just out of curiosity, does anyone know ?

Young and Useless was Adam H's band. Hardcore.

Ebay often has the vinyl listed. But check out beastiemania.com

the young and the useless was adam horovitz's band with dave scilken and two others. scilken was also invited to go on the liscensed to ill world tour as 'trim co-ordinator'. diamond and yauchs 1st band was the beastie boys.

D's first band was The Young Aborigines. Hence the line in Skills to Pay the Bills: "The original, Young Aboriginal...."

I was on a radio show out of Toronto once back in 94 and I was on the phone with Ad Rock and I asked him if Adam Yauch's band The Young and the Useless ever put out an album....He was like "no man, that was my band"....We had a laugh and then he said they might release it on the Grand Royal label...How embarassing for me!
