Country Mike?

Sorry if this has been asked before...but what's up with the country mike stuff?
I have the Sounds of Science Anthology album, and it had this very odd summary of this 'incident' that happened to mike. I'm assuming it was all a joke.

ok here we go...
back in 2000 or so mike D and the other guys made a country album as something fun to give to family and friends of grand royal for christmas. less than 500 copies ( i think) were made on vinyl, some red, some black. they are indeed very rare and valuble now. about a year or 2 later somebody in UK started making bootleg copies on vinyl and passing them off as the real deal, there are shit loads of those copies. there are a few ways u can tell the difference. 99% of copies on ebay are fake. btw the story of amnesia is a joke.
