I like fish, and am aiming to get a good fish meal at least twice a week, we all know how good it is for you after all.

Thing is no matter what fish I'm having I'm always teaming it with pasta with some sauce which gets very boring. I already have too many carbs as it is, so I'd like to avoid pasta.

What are your favourite concoction, including le poisson?

teaming fish with a salad that has a lemon juice based vinegrette is always a good plan since you prolly season your fishies with lemon

throwing a slab of salmon on top of a salad is pretty killer

asparagus is good with fish

I also like snapper alot

Im not really a big cod or halibut fan
Im west coast so my heart and soul is salmon all the way

My mum thinks I'm such a bugger for being so damn fussy but I think it's time to try new things, that should include salad, one supposes. Hmm, lemon vinegeratte, and methinks a load of black pepper, LOVE BLACK PEPPER!

I'm going to have a nice dark purple tuna steak for dinner tonight. I plan on coating it with sesame seeds, lightly grill and serve with either spinach salad or asparagus. Yum!

Mr.peachy and I have a really simple meal of baked fish (a nice white sort of fish fillet is perfect for this), brown rice and steamed broccoli at least one night a week. Now that I've got my window boxes of herbs going, I usually just put it in a shallow pan with a dot of butter and chopped fresh herbs and garlic, then lay some lemon slices over tht and just bake it for about 20 minutes (depending on what kind of fish and how thickly cut it is).

simply cooking shrimp on the stove , a little butter i think to give them some taste, when their really doin good in there throw some garlic powder on them and stir them up, the effect should be that the garlic powder dries onto the shrimp , giving it a rediculous good taste (y)

shrimp marinated for a few minute in lime juice, salt pepper, garlic and red pepper flakes is grrrrrreat

I always bake my salmon
never ever ever ever fry it

I like seasoning with salt, pepper, garlic, lemon and then either dill or thyme plus a light sprinkling of olive oil

I take either a salmon oil or a flax seed oil supplement each day whether or not I eat fish

I love seared tuna Japanese style and blackened halibut Cajun style...but my fave is Bacala! It's a bit tricky and takes some prep but who thought salted cod could be so fine!
You can find the cod at most Italian deli's.....it's a family favorite we Spaniards claim it's ours,so do the Portuguese and the Itals....all I know is they all fish for it off Newfoundland,eh!

Ingredients:

4 to 6 strips of bacala (salted dried cod, comes in a bag)
2 piece of celery,1 large onion,1 carrot: mince to make "mirpois"
5 or 6 roma tomato's cut up in large chunks.
1/4 lb kalamati olives (or any imported olives to your taste) don't used canned olives it's sinful.

Soak Bacala in water in your refrigerator for 2 days. Changing water
every couple of hours, while your awake! (I said it took prep!)

The cod comes malleable again,so then pat dry and genourously rub the fillets with olive oil, pepper and oregano,as well as the pan your going to bake them it in. Lay fillets out across the pan,put the mirpois around and on top,add olives, tomatoes and a little marinara( tomato sauce) on top as well if you like a moist dish.

Bake at 375º on middle rack until fish is done. (It will be moist and flaky)

This dish is also good cold. Any leftovers, sprinkle lemon juice on it and enjoy!

Give it a whirl,I dare ya! :)

my old friends family used to run a bar and grill and they made the best fish sandwiches

they fried them n a beer batter, and came on a good solid slice of bread, and went great with the ketchup/hotsauce mixed up and smashed on top
