2 QUestions Re: Root Down:
1. The line "I guess you'd expect to catch the crew rhyming" is never said. They just put stand there and make noises or MMM puts in a sample. Any reason why?
2. In the $2 Bill concert (Las Vegas) MMM puts in a beat that I have never heard him use before for this song. It comes in before the 2nd verse and ends at the start of the last chorus. Anybody know?
Thanks in advance.

In there live performances they don't say alot of things, but, you know, don't let it get you down. :o

Fans are supposed to yell the line. It's a concert tradition.
I see. Thanks. Anybody know what sample MMM uses?

Adrock always mutters through that line, it runs together during live shows when the flow is fastl.

Yeah, I saw that thread, except I'm pretty sure that it's NOT Apache or Unbelievable.

WHAT'S THE NAME OF THE BEAT USED ON "ROOT DOWN" IN THE TFC IN '97.

Yeah... I heard a few versions of RD, and in any of them, the King Adrock says those lines... it made me wonder, too.

I always thought it was because, when live, he always ran out of breath at that point. Adrock usually breathes into the mic during that little pause.
If you try and yell his first verse out like he would onstage, you'd see that it's a fine place to take a big breath.
Not that a 27 year old father of two would do such a thing.

Speaking of Root Down Live...Does anybody remember the Root Down Live Video that MTV used to air? It was from one of the early Tibetan Freedom concerts.
I only saw it once, back in like '96 or '97. I distinctly remember it was one of those years because Christina Tridenti was at my house. So don't argue with me.
Who has it on tape, or DVD?
Thanks

It's on the Free Tibet DVD, which I have. It's a bonus feature.

I've often thought about buying that DVD/CD, but the price was always so insane. Other then that one video, is it worth it?

I think it's worth it. They have some other good bands on there, good info about the situation in Tibet, and you can probably pick it up rather inexpensively on ebay.

Man, at least once a month, I find out from you people that I have something I didn't know I had.
I got the DVD cheap on ebay ages ago. I never looked at the special features. :o
I was pretty disappointed with the main part of the DVD.
I don't like concert footage when it's all chopped up with interviews and audience shots.
