Sleater Kinney are awesome,Janet Weiss is simply one of the most powerful live drummers I have ever seen,puts a serious hurt on skins and kit,they are the reason the phrase "Riot Grrrls" was coined.......can't wait to pick "The Woods" along with Stephen Malkmus's new one "Face the Truth"....all hands on the bad one!

Hey, anyone who bought this CD: Track 5 - Modern Girl, sounds funny. There's a static sound about half way through. I can hear it on my ipod, but it's much worse when I listen to the CD on my stereo or in my car. I also think there's a strange noise in another track when I play it on my ipod. I'm wondering whether my CD is defective, or whether their production just sucks.

Please tell me if your Modern Girl has a static sound. It sucks because I LOVE that song!!! Thanks.

Yeah, I had the same problem with that song too. I don't know if it's just some shitty CD pressings or what, but it really sucks.

Thanks. That's not the answer I wanted, but it's a big help. Because if you got a bad one in Canada, I'm not going to be able to exchange it for a good one here. I once tried to exchange the same album about 5 times and never got a good copy. I might try to download that song because I LOVE it.

I'm seeing them Wednesday night. Yeah!

Sorry to keep bumping, but I really love this CD! It keeps growing and growing on me. I usually get tired of new stuff fast.

Trouble is, they're not for everyone, and I have no friends to recommend this too. :rolleyes:

I really love Stephen Malkmus :D (I've grown up listening pavement ;) )
and I liked very much the first solo album but pig lib (n) (the bonus cd is great (y) ) by the way it seems that face the truth is awesome.

I wish to see him live but now he's touring us (http://www.matadorrecords.com/stephen_malkmus/) sigh! :(
