"in a world gone mad" was horrible and doesnt belong on an album and "this government needs a tune up" is a good song but it was just released to influence anyone who decides to vote according to what celebrities say. free for download off their official website and "finding a lost CD" with an unreleased song on it seems a good way to share these songs. no need to include it in an album

So if someone comes on and says "Beastie Boys suck and so do all of you" is that worth posting ? No one on a Beastie Boys message board needs to hear that, its not worth the post.

Well my opinion is that I like both songs, and I'm not just saying that because they're my favorite band. For real, they have a good beat and I agree with them, bush is an assmonkey. :p

"and so do all of you" no.

But "Beastie Boys suck" yes

If you notice, Rich didn't make any personal attacks, he only gave his opinions about those songs, which is fine.

Places like these are just a freedom of speech!! & every fan should have an opinion! if they didn't it would be a very dull place to be.

regardless of whether people should hear them or not, i'm sure they are aware of the fact that many people don't want to hear them.
i've seen many threads on here with people bitching about how they have political songs.

Maybe because suck or not, they wanted only real fans who know about the Bsides to have them because they are so good??

I really like This Govt. Needs a Tune-up.

I wonder what the band thinks of IAWGM from a musical perspective?

Again I'll say it, tweak the leftover 5 Boroughs shit (instruments, Sp1200's , leave them alone) and release them as an E.P. People would scoop it for sure.

It shouldn't take so much patience to be a Beastie Boys fan....

i don't get how can the biggest fans of the beastie boys say that those songs suck.

i mean, yeah, those are political songs and that's probably why they weren't released on any album, but still, 'This Government Needs a Tune Up' and 'In a World Gone Mad' are ment to send out a certain somewhat meaningful message, and there ain't no reason to diss them so much.

^ so by your logic if they put out a track with Mike D farting in an old KFC bucket with Adrock and MCA pissing in urinals as the backround I'd have to like it just cus I"m a fan??

umm no, this proves that you only read the first line of my post.

i didn't mean that all beastie fans have to love everything they put out, what i ment is:
'This Government Needs a Tune Up' and 'In a World Gone Mad' are ment to send out a certain somewhat meaningful message, and there ain't no reason to diss them so much.

Personally, I think the Beastles version of "In a World Gone Mad" is WAY better than the original.

Or maybe the people who say they suck actually DON'T LIKE THEM. Regardless of the fact that the Beastie Boys sing it, and regardless of the fact that they have a political message, it IS possible for people to simply think that they are POOR songs.
