At college the other day I was playing some tracks off Paul's Boutique, showing them to my lecturer who suprisingly appreciated the work that had gone into the tracks and was recognising samples here and there. (I do an Music Technology course by the way). A moment later one of the engineers comes by, and my lecturer asks him to listen and see what he thinks. When the engineer asked who the group was, he balked when I told him it was the Beasite Boys. Turns out he worked at a local venue the band played on the LTI tour, and recounted his rather unpleasant encounter with them. He said that "one of their crew" (now I'm imagining that could be their road crew, though the possibilty exists he meant like, y'know, their posse) took offence to the lady stage manager who told them not to drink near some vital equipment or something, and proceeded to, as my college engineer said "piss on her".
He was adamant that the guys were assholes, even though I tried to convince him one of them was a budhist now, but he wouldn't have any of it. He must have had a pretty bad experience to not be willing to change his mind!
He's cool though, got loads of stories about various showbiz peeps.
