they've got a new record due July 26th
although I like them, i kinda think it may be time to call it quits. not only do they not really sell albums, they're last 2 records are kind of crap.
who knows, maybe this one will be great.
they're a hell of a live show.
and, go....

Cosmo: One for Madagascar, please.

I haven't been really into them since about their 3rd or 4th album. But the first time i saw them live was at Tipatina's for free back in 1992. I saw them live a lot back in the early/mid 90s and they used to put on a great show.
They turned a little too mellow for my taste. But Pootytang and I ran into P-Nut on a flight and he was really cool to talk with us.

I've never seen 311 live. I'd like to see them at least once, although I do agree that maybe they should call it quits soon. Or at least stop making albums and just tour.

311's eternal in and 4 my mind on a scale rarely rated properly!!! They've wrapped it up with the best of them. I have to say that I found P-Nut's mom(moderator on their website) to be a bloodclot in no uncertain terms, which was too bad if not a damn shame in their system, and Tim's a bit too self admitted in being devious.. But I'll still venture to say that they're the most underrated band in history! Par for this world's BUllSHit course. Nothing even comes close to matching the skinny laid down with paramount and profound touchstone style on the Grassroots album, not to mention the others! Nick's got one of the most customized, eclectic, genuinely genius, classicaly tuned and otherwise vocals which encompass all realms so well... that ever graced the genre; Tim's solo guitar riffs are some of the most professionally felt and melodic I've ever heard; Chad's beat has been known to figure pandora's box out; P-Nut's bass is on it; and SA's romantic realism is dope! They're completely true and original in their ambiance. Like one of the few bands that could've really been counted on. They're true to space on down. I think the next album will be interesting and definitely worth the while of course, but maybe they got too caught up in Hollywood's glaze to bring it like they did at one time... But they're the one of the closest bands to the sun if you ask me. It's too bad they didn't make full potential in my eyes perhaps along the way, but they'll be here a while... They've made a class and sound all their own is what I'm trying to say. They made it all simple by going through it smarter and harder ways than most imagine. Practically genius that nobody got really! No other like 'em. That's the truth. Where they go I wish them all the best certainly, and hope they make all the difference at large this time. I really want to see them do more than sing about it actually at the last point. But what are ya going to do at a point? They're like the Beastie Boys... in like they were the musical Columbus, Einstein, Edison, and Bell... up for show and tell, and everyone stayed huddled about a fire still talking about how flat the world is, how unrelated everything is, never adhering in time to communicate right. And then for their own lack of... they manifest tendancies to askew everything. So many Einsteins and Edison's in coal mines or oil fields these days. Don't even get me started...
Props to 311 for life. I truly hope it will be a new beginning for them in all kinds of ways as it goes! Rock/ Roll on...!!!!
Peace.

If you're a universal sucker..
You have to really be dumbed down and pathetic to show your arrogance meddling with things you don't know about. Make sense of that and this.. The only things that suck here are you people. I'd take schizophrenic robot over you people any day. It'd be funny for a robot to be light years ahead, more keen on reality and more intelligent than you. And then a damn shame to see that the robot would suffer to make sense of you and the degenerate world you cause only because you don't make any good sense. It, as I, would only find that the death of you would mean life. But being that I'm not a schizophrenic robot, I'd turn you in and then I'd turn you out. And I'd do this until your brain programmes itself accordingly.

You're everything short of pathetic. Tell me again what that says. 'Tis clear and evident that the problem here lies with suckers that front and bitches who bite. You fit in both categories. Although I may just bam it out, understanding what I write isn't hard. What level you get it on is a different concept all together. How you take it.. again, that's obviously your problem. Why can't you figure that out? Why you gotta act out.., well, "...get ready..." - From Chaos: Full Ride
You misunderstand yourself. For the forth time, too. It's a shame in/ of mass proportions.

When I said that they didn't make full potential in my eyes, I perhaps said that wrong somehow in that it left room to be misconstrued by lurking perps. Perhaps I could better describe by saying that after I tapped into Grassroots, my hindsight feeling is that they seemed to have left that behind and got too kind along the way, but every record they've done has been original and meant the world to me! ... "I am what I am and that's an old school jam..." So don't think I'm complaining.
Loving them unconditionally is an understatement. With it so well and real, I don't mind taking a minute here, and if you don't like it.....
They've been one of the most relied upon touchstones that I've known musically in my lifetime and always have a space in my top 3. My gratitude for 311 is overwhelming and a struggle to keep lit right for me in this day and age when my expectations have proven to hit ever harder...
Anyway... I'm ecstatically enthused about the effectuation of their new album! I've said too much... and can't wait to map out & track the their new sound. So I gotta thank my lucky stars that the wait is over.

I dig 'em. I don't know why cuz it seems that I can't tolerate alot of the bands I liked when I was younger. Incubus being one. I think it has something to do with being plastered all over TV and walking around seeing 12 year old kids wearing their shirts and constantly pining over them. 311 has seemed to avoid that over the years. On average, they've really only been dropping maybe 2 singles an album, which tends to work out for everybody. They don't get overhyped to the point that I can't stand them anymore and you don't have to listen to them.
