Hi, just wondering, do you Americans feel like you are getting ripped off by iTunes? You pay 99 cents a song... us Canadians also pay 99 cents except it's in CAN dollars. Just wondering, cause once you start buying hundreds of songs... you're overpaying by a lot (compared to Canadians.)

not really.

i still buy albums i want in the stores.

if ever I want just a cool single song I heard, I like just buying the one song.

since last summer I've spent just over a hundred dollars on singles i like, imagin if instead I bought those whole albums.

I really don't think there's many iTunes users here. If there are, I'd be surprised.

Frankly, if I'm going to download a song/album/whatever you can bet your silly ass that I'm not paying for it (the download). A lot of the time, if an album I'm looking forward to gets leaked on the internet I will download it and purchase it later when it comes out. Especially if it's being released on vinyl.

Yeah, I know, some people think that's a stupid way to do things since I "already have the album" but I like having the actual CD/record to hold in my hands and check out the liner notes. I'm just lame like that.

In conclusion, nah, I don't feel ripped off by iTunes at all.

I buy a ton of music from itunes. I don't feel ripped off, because it's a nice way to buy the one song I like from an album I don't. It makes me mad when they don't let you buy just one song and only let you buy the whole album though. The only thing that bugs me is that sometimes I do end up buying the whole album and then it was a little bit of a waste.

I never steal music, so it's a really good deal for me. It's funny though that you pay less. I assume Australians do too then?

I feel ripped off because I forgot to turn in several winning pepsi lids before the free-songs promo ran out.

I use iTunes rarely, but when I have needed it, it was fantastic.

For instance: Gary wanted a particular song which will go nameless to use to play before a worship service. It was one of those songs that was huge about 10 years ago but the artist has pretty much disappeared. My first instinct was to go to Berkeley and scour the $3 CD bins, because it was one of those albums everybody had to have but later got embarassed about and swapped it back to the store.

then I realized the song was probably on iTunes. It was. Ninety-nine cents later, I had it and had saved myself not just the cost of that CD but the time and trouble to go get it.

Very cool.
