I've listened to it from your link, TrimTrabb. Admittedly, it's very un-Oasis, which is a very good thing. However, they've blatantly ripped off various bands. How unoriginal.

'Mucky Fingers' - 'I'm Waiting For The Man'.

YES! I'VE GOT IT!

'Part Of The Queue' - 'Golden Brown'.

Shocking. Absolutely shocking.

I bought it.

Paid money for it.

Own it.

I dig it.

Don't care what nobody thinks.

I just listen to lots and lots and lots and lots of music without worrying too much about who artists do and don't borrow from. I prefer to listen first, dissect later. It's not like they try to disguise their influences, anyways. It's a good album.

Oasis>Blur

Blur are better than Oasis. There's no point in even suggesting Oasis are better.

Fair do's in you liking the album, it's different by their standards, but it's overall poor. I doubt I could force myself to listen to it again. There are no catchy tracks (apart from Lyla, which is too catch for it's own good) and it just seems sluggish the whole way through.

'Definitely Maybe' and 'What's The Story....' are really good albums. They sum up the mid-90s to perfection, but time progresses. Oasis haven't in terms of bettering their first two albums.

It'll all go downhill from here. You'll start enjoying Dido next.

So lame it is incredible, the production is a washout, the lyrics mindless. Are these guys chronic alcoholics? Wow, amazingly lame....pathetic.

Boring music for boring people, I made it through 4 songs and that is it.

Sorry to the Oasis fans, but this album is a genuine clunker. Embarassing.

although I usually get bored of Oasis after two songs, they are so much better than fucking Blur. they wrote songs such as 'Tracey Jacks', 'Boy and Girls' and 'Charmless Man'...meanwhile Oasis used to drink a lot, do lots of drugs, fuck lots of women and play rock n' roll. gangsta.

I agree wholeheartedly up to that point, but Blur is a fair bit more original than oasis and for that I'd probably rate them over oasis.

I lived with a guy who was an Oasis freak, I wonder if he got the new album?

He had every single newspaper published in England from the week that began with the news of Diana's death. I wonder if that's a clue?

Blur made some shit too, but they are much better than Oasis.

Well, you see, I was just reiterating my opinion from a previous Blur/Oasis thread . your mom

I don't have anything against Blur, at all. your mom

To me, Blur just don't compare with Oasis in so many areas, ya see. They're perhaps a little more consistent and original, but they've yet to record a song as mighty as Supersonic, or a song as hopeful as Don't Look Back In Anger; they've never had b-sides as great as Acquiesce and Talk Tonight, or any ballads as pleasing as Slide Away, Wonderwall or even Songbird. your mom

There's not one album in the Blur catalogue that's as timeless as Definitely Maybe or...Morning Glory; not Modern Life Is Rubbish, not Parklife or anything else. Not to mention that Blur didn't even really begin to actually convincingly play "rock" until their 6th album. I mean, c'mon. your mom

I like Blur, like I said. I own all their albums, but seriously....not even close. your mom

But oasis has lyrics like:

"The Sink is full of fishes, Cos she's got dirty dishes on the brain.
And my dog's been itchin', ithcin' in the kitchen once again."

I rest my case.
