I heard that Eminem and beastie boys at the mtv music awards were talking and eminem got pissed at them laughing when he said still doin' it huh?
because the b-boys were thinking they should've called their new album that.
Is Eminem mad at them? or was he?

There was a rumour going around he was, but I read they cleared this issue up by saying he'd walked into their changing room while they were laughing about something else...far as I know he loves BB's..he's had many a chance to diss them..which he hasn't.

yeah, i heared that on some show, (i think TRL?) just about the time tt5b came out, the boys were sittin in the backstage, and talking about how people say that they're "still doing it".
exactly then, eminem walked in the room and said: "still doing it, eh?"
the boys instantly started laughing, eminem got offended and he thought they laughed at him or something and left the room.

Did eminem not "diss" them in 8 mile?

I also remember seeing d12 being interviewd, at some sort of mtv awards, and they got asked who they were looking forward to see that night and eminem said the beasties and one of the other d12 members laughed as if to say eminem was being sarcastic.

If Eminem is mad at them he can fuck off and die because he needs medication if something like that would make him mad.

This question is well on its way to joining its brothers in the Frequent Post Archive. The question comes up often.

Sea Dragon posted an mp3 of a radio interview with KNDD 107.7 Seattle in June 2004 in which Adam Horovitz answered this question. Listen to the interview here (http://rope.kndd-fm.fimc.net/realaudio/noname/061004_beastieboys/beastie.mp3) [mp3 download].

Horovitz: "He [Eminem] was very nice to us."

Oooh, thanks. Yeah I've heard about the Eminem thing, I doubt he would get upset over something like because he don't seem like that type but I don't know. If he is then he's a pusso-foggo.

noo what happened (in 8 mile) was eminem's stupid friend said that the beasties were pioneers of rap or something, and then their stupid black friends scoughed at that saying it was BS or something,a nd eminem just sat there and didn't really say anything

Not that I'm a Eminem fan, but he has no reason whatsoever to dislike BB's! No matter what anyone say's, they bought Rap music to the white people in a round about way...They haven't had the hype he's had, plus I think all this bitch dissin and pimp talking is old!...Hence why BB's have ditched the beer throwing woman thrashing days behind them along time ago..as for D12..what a fucking joke they are! jump on the band wagon why don't they?

To answer your question..was I around amd down with BB's when LTI was dropped?..yes, I'm 37 and have followed them since day one, seen them 4 times. Yes they got a lot of hype when LTI was released, but Emimem has had way more media hype for every album he's done ( I aint no fan ). Like I've always said, had BB's just started off now, they'd be massive!! Hip- Hop now is a lot bigger than it was way back when BB's came on the scene..not many white people were into it. Eminem has BB's to thank them for bringing it to the mainsteam...hence why he can't possibly hate them, if anything he has total respect, I'll bet he even has all their albums. You see, the one thing that pisses me off is when somebody asks you who your fav band is, and you tell them BB's..now unless your a fan of theirs, or have great music knowledge, the average fuckwit comes back with " they still going?, they did that fight for your right thing didn't they? " Unfortunately, most people know most of Eminems single releases.

Yeah, Beastie boys are the fathers of white rap and hip-hop, that'd be sweet if Eminem really did have all their albums lol, they really deserve to get total respect from eminem.

Could you guys imagine how different things would have been if Eminem was the first chart topping white rapper in history, rather than the bboys? I think rap (and white people in general) are pretty damn lucky to have the beastie boys as the crown rulers of white hip-hop, considering that they have grown into such innovative, creative, and not to mention considerate and gentlemen-like people. Eminem, despite his appeal and limited talent (I'm not a fan either, but you've gotta admit the boy does have heart and at some point was different) would've given white rappers such a shallow, thin, and overall unrespectable image to start off from. I can't ever see him growing into the musically knowledgable position that the beastie boys have (so surprisingly compared to LTI era). I admit he's matured a bit, in behavior, but definitely not in his musical ability. In fact I think his music, and most definitely his popularity has dwindled since he dropped the bratty, shock value routine. Staying power is not weighed anymore in artistic improvement, which is the only reason I think he'll be around for awhile. What do you guys think?

"Eminem, despite his appeal and limited talent"

You people sound like those kids on the MTV boards shooting shit back and forth about who is better, N'Sync or the Backstreet Boys. Better yet, you sound like those jackasses on the Insane Clown Posse board who say the same shit about Eminem. How lame can that be?

Eminem, limited talent? Are you insane? There is no other RAP ARTIST out there right now that can even get near his talent. Yeah, the Beastie Boys are dope and always have been, but ther aren't embraced by the core group of hip hop fans like Eminem is. For the most part, the Beastie Boys are 'still doing it' because of the alternative music fans around the world.

Eminem hasn't grown? What about "Stan" or "Mockingbird" or "White America"?

The sad thing here is that people think because they are a huge Beastie Boys fan that they can not like Eminem. That is pathetic.

To be honest, I barely listen to ANY Hip Hop that came out after 1989. I've always listened to the Beastie Boys but I don't ever look at them as rap artists, they are universal. They don't have to label themselves as that.
Eminem is a great artist. When his songs come on the radio, you have something to listen to besides a hook. 98% of all other rap music that has come out over the past 10+ years has been bullshit verses with a hook.

Like someone said, if that story is true I am sure Eminem would have written a dis track towards the Beastie Boys. I think they are the only white rap artist/crew that he hasn't dissed. That line in "Cum On Everybody" wasn't a dis. Read it again.

Eminem's average. Wasn't always, but has been steadily progressing into the mundane since The Marsall Mathers LP.

You sound more like people on those boards you mentioned than Brother McDuff does, anyway.

Nice work on the 'son'. Way to make me feel small.

I'm a kid! I wish I could be like you and dole out redundant opinions on a rapper at the tail end of a career that was never that great in the first place. Oh wait! I just did!

Well said!

Beastie Boys and Eminem? Whole different kettle of fish.

(one kettle being full of some kind of gold plated super fish...and the other full of dead, stinking fish corpses. I dont think i need to say which is which. And as for the whole kettle of fish thing? dont ask me bout that either. my mum used to say it)
