The Young and Useless record is actually pretty dope. What they lack in skill, they make up for in personality. A-drock even trys to rap on that shit! Haha.

The young aboriginals never put anything out. You have to realize that these bands weren't anything huge. These are high school kids who are just into punkrock and starting bands with their friends.

beastie boys were definatly a major contributor to the hardcore scene in early 80s nyc. though they may not have been the greatest band around at that time, but still are very influential. as kids they were going to shows and were deep into the scene. i bet many of you kids have never heard of Brooklyn. as you all are very aware, the Bad Brains were pretty close friends of the beasties. along with everyother hardcore band at that time, such as Fear, the Stimulators, Cro Mags, Agnostic Front, Murphy's Law, Warzone, ect ect... anyway, Brooklyn consisted of Adam Yaunch, Darryl Jennifer from the Bad Brains, Doug E. Beans from Murphy's Law, and Tom Cushman. the band cut a demo tape in '87 with Yauch on bass and vocals, but never really had a chance to fully persure the project. Bad Brains' I Against I had just come out and the Beastie Boys had just wrapped up their License To Ill tour. and we all know how both of these albums are mile stones in their bands' history. so needless to say, Brooklyn was no more. and its a damn shame too....
