try the vinegar thing, stand in the shower and pour a gallon of distilled vinegar over the burn areas, let it soak in a bit and then rinse clean

Summer has nearly begun in England and my flat mate, who is from Botswana, reckons its cold over here and is wearing a jumper also.

Once it reaches about 17 degrees in England most English people have shorts and t-shirts on however. We are grateful for any bit of sun we can get (I am not implying that you aren't).

I love the English summer!

You've never been sunburnt into you've been sunburnt in Australia. The whole in the ozone layer is just above our entire country. Or so I've been told. Its like our claim to fame....come to sunny australia and you will go straight from pale to being one giant skin cancer mole

You can get burnt on like 20 degree days here if theres no clouds.

Nurse Pointon to the rescue!!!

That looks like some nasty sunburn you got there.

Heres what you should do:

A cold compress such as a tea towel soaked in cold water may be soothing over the burnt area.

Blisters will heal quicker if left to the fresh air. Even a small blister is best left uncovered to heal.

If the blister bursts, you can use a dry, non-adhesive, non-fluffy sterile dressing.

If it gets any worse or sore then go see your doctor.

Also - I recommend complete bedrest - ON YOUR OWN and not with your friend in the picture.

good lord, that's a hell of a sunburn! i know what you mean though, my skin's the same way. i'll burn once maybe every year or two and the rest of the summer i'm jamaican. the worst was on my friend that i went to BFD with last june. she wore a shirt with a HUGE cutout in the back - basically her entire back was exposed - and ended up with a giant red circle on her back. ouchie.

Good treatment for sunburn: after sunburn cream thats made out of cucumbers or something, i'm sure you'll be able to get some if you go to the local chemist. As far as home remedies, cold wet teabags are the go(seriously they sooth the burns better than anything for some reason). I would choose them over the tea towels any day.

I'm pretty sure i showed you my I.D when i met you guys, but if i didn't I am seriously burnt in the photo because it was taken the day after Big Day out. Isn't it a bit odd that like 3 days after big day out, where i got severely sunburnt, the most rain in one day in melbourne ever came down? Seriously I'm a little freaked by this years weather :(

For running, I just learned to train in the early morning and to go on trails. Trails are your friend in the blazing sun. I have a lot of different types of tan lines because of the different types of shorts & running shirts/bras that I wear.

My friend has the best farmer's tan. REALLY tan neck and forearms. Everything else is lily white. It's like he's got a shirt on when he doesn't. A really white shirt.

Whoa...its like each tanline is a totally different colour, theres at least 3 or 4. Maybe you need to start wearing tops with the same cut (at least at the back) so you get a uniform sorta tanline. Or just put fake tan or something over the lighter areas. I dunno.
