Hello,

Out of the 5 times I've seen them live: on three occasions audience participation became dangerous or hectic and at all 3 shows(different tours) Mike D was always the band member to address the audience to try and cool things out....he's always met with sucess....anyone else observe the same pattern?

The concern for their audience's safety is shared. All three Beastie Boys have asked audiences to chill -- not just Mike.

Well of course thats what I figured I was just wondering if there was a pattern. It seems to me D is the most vocal of the 3 in between numbers whether it's slaging someones dance style or proclaiming that the ladies have as much right to participate up front as the tough guys.....he just seems to engage the crowd more than the other 2,in my experience anyway.....

in the sabotage home video i think mike d says "yo move back, move back" during "so whatcha want" with cypress hill. i always took it as if the crowd was rushing/pushing up front towards the stage and d was telling them to cool out. but i'm not totally sure that "yo move back, move back" is what mike d is saying .

I'd say that it is Yauch who speaks the least between songs.

Yep,for sure,one of my favorite on stage exchanges was when D was funin on this kid who'd broke out a little dance circle in the midst of an insane floor and Yauch was like "why you hacking on him?He thinks he's good,that's cool,he's allright by me...."

Ad Rock has always struck me as the screamer and the nonsense talker....

In Brussels, they had me ask the crowd to calm down !!! :cool: :)
