Beastie Groove aint an LTI B-Side though. It's from Rock Hard back in '85.

Actually I didnt say that Beastie Groove is a LTI b-side. I said two things.
1st: LTI b-sides are great
2nd: I love Beastie Groove
They're not related to each other. Unfortunately I wasnt that clear im my reply :)

I love this song so much! One day I downloaded a bunch of random Beasties mp3s to add to the pile, and I forgot about this one because it was mislabeled. Then, months later I listened to it, and couldn't go a day without hearing it.

Fast forward to a month ago, I bought a new pc and it got lost during the data migration :^(

Does anyone have this mp3?? Are you willing to send me a copy? I'm more than happy to share mine! Or could anyone at least direct me to the album I can find this awesome song on? Thanks so much to anyone who can help me out.

^ It wasn't commercially released, and I never heard it either. So if anyone possibly has an MP3...:(

I am also interested. Nobody will mind, come on somebody. Grandroyal.com used to have links that would open up Napster and type the song/artist into the right fields.

And while they're at it, they can bloody well release Desperado
I assume either Rush or Rubin has it locked away in some Def Jam archive, stubbonly keeping it to themselves for these past 2 decades.
If not, then the Beasties should re-record the damn song with TTL music and let me die a happy man.:o

Not that re-recordings would happen, but my picks would be Beastie Groove and Scenario. Obviously in their wiser state they may change a few lyrics, but I'd like to see Adrock's 'speed rapping' now, and the Scenario is just a really simple but effortlessly cool old school rap song. Get them re-recorded!

How did they get clearance for Beatles samples on PB? Were they just in a better position to pay bigger bucks for the clearance?

The copyright game was way different back then. They weren't clearing much, if anything. The reason they got into clearence for "I'm Down" was that it was basically a cover. It wasn't like any of the stuff on Paul's Boutique where they were just using the samples as backing tracks to rap over.

Run DMC rereleased 4 albums and put b-sides from years ago and people scooped em up in a heartbeat.

I wonder how much time a day the Boys spend thinking about the song "I'm Down." I think at this point they're probably happy that song wasn't a legitimite release. They've spent the last 20 years trying to make people forget "You Gotta Fight For Your Right" Who's really going to buy a B-Side from 20 years ago except the 10 people on this board who can't realize it's 2006, not 1986.

Stupid-ass Frat-Rap bullshit.

I hope they put their energy into CREATING something new. That's what they do best and that's what most of their fans are interested in hearing from them.

yo rob.....LTI still sells more in 2006 then most groups out there........

The Beasties just re-issued shirts with the old Beastie diamond logo. SGH had a pre-LTI picture on it.

To me, it seems that they have accepted and embraced their past...to a degree.

yep, i agree with that and i agree with the to an extent bit. i mean look at the amount of LTI songs they've played on the Pageant tour, the most in awhile I think (e.g. the new style, no sleep, time to get ill, brass monkey,

and the picture on the inside of SGH shows them quite clearly wankered in their LTI days!
