Just got this.
Pretty good. Double disc edition with remastered original, and a CD of alternate takes/remixes/b-sides, and a booklet with an essay by a dude whos publishing a book later this year about "Endtroducing" and song notes by Shadow.
The second disc is ok, most of the alternate takes are little more than curiosities, and the remixes/b-sides i already had, but im a completeist so fuck it.
Also i got it from his website so it came with a t-shirt/poster (y)
Can't wait for the book...

I got it, enjoyed it. I'm completist much like yourself, but the 30 dollars still seemed a little excessive, particularly when several of the Excessive Ephemera tracks are, as you said, little more than curiosities (I'm thinking of "Best Foot Forward" which isn't even really a song, "Soup," which is 44 seconds long, and the Alternate Take of "Why Hip-Hop Sucks in '96," which is 54 seconds long). I didn't really appreciate the Organ Donor Extended Overhaul as I already have Preemptive Strike, although it is an awesome track for those who don't already have it. I had a lot of trouble tracking down the Gift of Gab mix of Midnight in a Perfect World beforehand. Honestly if anything makes this worth the extra money, it's track 14 on disk 2, the 12:35 Live Set from Oxford. That's fresh. The Booklet was really interesting too, I learned a lot about their recording process back in the day, and I'm now keeping my eye out for that book. I would definitely say Endtroducing... is a must-own for really anyone's music collection, the 30 dollar pricetag on this deluxe edition really makes it only a good fit for the really hardcore fan. Still good though.

It was recorded in '95
Plus the man himself says in his notes "Has it been 10 years already?"

Yeah but it wasnt released till 96. Would you say someone was 10 years old, 10 years to the day they were concived?
I cant wait for it to arive. I've even put off downloading the album just to make it all the more special when it arives. In all its signed glory.

I don't actually have Endtroducing :( so I absolutely must pick this up.
I got my signed copy today :) I had to go down to the the post office and pay a £10 customs charge for it though. It was cool to read the notes and I'm definatly going to try and get a copy of the book when it comes out

being remastered I would assume it's better quality sound than the vinyl?
Unfortunately, the way many big labels remaster their music these days, it could end up sounding worse than the original CD and vinyl. Many times all they do is bump up the bass and the highs, make the overall volume louder (which actually *can* help the sound some because more digital bits are used) but the worse thing that can happen is if they overcompress (http://www.prorec.com/prorec/articles.nsf/articles/8A133F52D0FD71AB86256C2E005DAF1C) it--that can make it literally physically difficult to listen to for many people.
If you have the Beatles 1 comp CD that came out three years ago, that is an excellent example of what many people (including myself) think of as an overcompressed/too bright remaster. :(
There's another old guy :) at another forum who has pretty much all Shadow's stuff including this new edition--i'll ask him what he thought of the sound.
For this Deluxe Edition, Endtroducing hasn't been enhanced or remastered
